Some translated info. More (from WAF Congress ect) later. www.armpower.net/index.php?page=newsmoreen&id=1892On the eve of the competition the European Armwrestling Federation held another Congress of the World Cup participants. In a friendly atmosphere various problems connected with the fate of European armwrestling as well as the organization and conduct of the events in the future (where and when) were been solving for 3 hours. All interested, we quote the results of this Congress, as many of the elements were related not only to management of individual organizations, but also concerned competitors. One of the most pressing problems was the announcement of the dope comittee. During the European Championships in Moscow in the bodies of three contestants illicit substances were detected. Two competitors were fined by EAF, and the third competitor from Turkey appealed against the decision of the committee and her name cannot be provide to the public. Two men have been punished in accordance with the International Anti-Doping Commission WADA. Asmonas Mantas from Lithuania, who was punished for a period of two years for using anabolic steroids was mostly punished. The second contestant, a representative of the Russian team was penalized for a period of three months, because he reported that in the time of preparations his doctor prescribed him medications, which can be detected in dope tests and found to be illegal. However, these drugs have only medicinal properties, and although they are on the banned list, Alexander Anfilofejew from Russia, was sentenced to a period of 3 months, but he can fight now. The next years European Championships will be held in the following countries: 2011 - Turkey, Antalya (mid of May) 2012 - Poland, Kolobrzeg (late May) 2013 - Lithuania, Druskininkai 2014 - Azerbaijan, Baku in 2015 by the decision of the Congress, the European Championships will be held in Bulgaria in Sofia. Next year also changes regarding the implementation of protocols will take place and all competitors will have to have a license of a European Federation, which can be obtained in their country, as well as at the international tournaments. These and other changes will help to carry out competitions at different levels quickly and accurately. The license will cost no more than 10euro per year. Tomorrow the weighing in of the competitors as well as the Congress of World Federation starts.

www.armpower.net/index.php?page=newsmoreen&id=1893XXXII World Championships - Las Vegas 2010 has already begun. We are after the official registration of teams. Of course, at this year's World Championships there is also Polish National Armwrestling Team. Unfortunately, on the spot it turned out that Marlene Wawrzyniak from Bydgoszcz will not join the Polish Team. Because of the pain of the big toe Marlena finally resigned. Also Janusz Piechowski from Gdynia made a change and he will eventually start only in super grand masters class (athletes over sixty), and not as he previously announced in the super grand masters and grand masters classes. The competition attracted about 800 competitors from 39 countries. Though organizers reported earlier that more than 1,300 players enrolled, we informs those who are interested that the amount of take-offs is 1300 and not the players themselves. The first weighing in is tomorrow,. Let's hope that all our representatives will fit in their weight classes.

Yeah there is 800 competitors sorry for this "error" Next news: www.armpower.net/index.php?page=newsmoreen&id=1895On 7th December 2010 in Casablanca Hotel the next WAF congress was held. It can be said that it was conducted in a friendly atmosphere. Several important aspects of organizing and conducting armwretling competitions have been taken. Here are the most interesting moments of this Congress. For many of you there is often a question how properly to issue the startup command. In recent years, this moment was a headache for many competitors and referees. Some claimed that the best commend is "Ready, Go!". Others that it's just, "Go!". Well, the world referees comettee wants to experiment with the command "Don't Move, Go!". Of course, at these championships this command will not be used, but it was decided that by 2011 - the championship in Kazakhstan each Federation should test and vote on this type of command to start. The next year, each country has given its opinion to the point. If the innovation turns up to be good, it will be introduced. If not - it will be rejected at the next congress. Then it was voted that the World Cup in 2011 will be held in Kazakhstan from 26th November to 4th December. Of course, not everyone liked that term, but management of the World Federation had it all their own way. The next championships in 2012 will be held in Brazil. Here the date was selected by vote to the end of September (voted by a majority). The next vote was a World Cup 2013 in Poland and here also the end of September 2013 (the majority of voters was on our side) was carried by vote. A very important point of the program of the Congress was a proposal of Vladimir Petrenko - Ukrainian President of Armsport Association, to change the weight class of juniors and raise the final age for juniors from 18 to 21. Here, to the many questions that have arisen from this vote, Petrenko could not answer, because, due to pneumonia, he could not attend the championships. And there were a lot of questions and concerns. First of all, many of us were surprised that we close off the possibility of 15 and 16 year old competitors the way to the World and European Championships. If the proposal would be worded a little differently, ie in such a way to separate the age category of 18 -21 - the idea would be accepted without a problem. This idea will be considered in the next year or by voting over the Internet. Russian Armsport Association gave the proposal to introduce new weight classes: juniors disabled up to 50kg and over 50kg, boys up to 50kg, 65kg, 80kg and over 80kg. The answer is clear and unanimous - passed. And so we have the juniors disabled class.

www.armpower.net/index.php?page=newsmoreen&id=1898Every day, in parallel to the XXXII World Championships - Las Vegas 2010 seminars organized by the American player - Travis Bagenta takes place. Of course, armpower editors also went to this seminar. The seminar is conducted in a very interesting way. Travis daily collects so many volunteers that a whole room is full of listeners. On the first day of the World Championships rivalry Travis Bagent three times organized a seminar at which, was at least twenty listeners. According to what we saw, Travis is training in a completely different way than others. But in fact it does not matter how he trains, but the important thing is that he is, was and will be the strongest. Especially for you armpower editors got a video recording from such a seminar which will be published on our website after our come back.

www.armpower.net/index.php?page=newsmoreen&id=1897Yesterday (08th December 2010) the first day of the XXXII Armwrestling World Championship - USA 2010 was held - the left hand junior, masters, grand masters, super masters and disabled rivalry. The Polish team was represented by 3 people - Janusz Piechowski from Gdynia, Gdynia Igor Mazurenko from Gdynia and Marta Opalinska from Grudziadz. Each of them had a severe competition in their weight classes. In Marta Opalinska's up to 60kg junior class seven people took off, in the Janusz Piechowski's super grand masters class were 5 people. In Igor Mazurenko's up to 100 kg masters class were 17 people. Finally, in the overall classification of the left hand rivalry Janusz Piechowski and Igor Mazurenko ranked 4th. While Martha Opalinska ranked second on the podium. So we have a first champions medal at this year's World Armwrestling Championships. Martin lost in the qualification round with a representative of Kazakhstan for two fouls, but after leaving from the table, everyone said that she should beat her without any problem. She easily won nest duels and with no problem reached the cup-final, where she once again came across the same competitor from Kazakhstan. However, earlier predictions were wrong, and ultimately the armwrestler from Kazahstan proved to be better. So 2nd place and a silver medal for left hand in up to 60kg junior class is in the hands of Poland, and more generally Marta Opalinska from Grudziadz. Our congratulations! The hardest thing was in the class of Igor Mazurenko. To reach the cup- final Igor had to win six times in turn. Unfortunately this did not happen. Igor's first defeat was with a representative of the United States. The second was with the Italian armwrestler. Igor finally came in the most unfortunate place for every competitor - the 4th one To the astonishment of all observers on the podium we did not see representatives from Russia, Ukraine and England, who had to acknowledge the superiority of their colleagues in eliminations. Finally, the podium of this class belonged to Italians, Americans and Canadians. Janusz Piechowski started only in the class of the Super Grand Masters, or competitors over 60. Although previously he announced that he will compete also in grand masters class (competiotors over 50). Due to too much competition at registration he finally resigned from the fighting in grand masters. Taking into consideration the gold medals statistics, the most frequently played anthem was the anthem of Kazakhstan. Overall assessment of the first day of the competition is qiute weak. All the time the organizers get confused. On screens - big screens, is not enough that almost nothing was visible, they showed different results than it actually was. Tables were set in such a way that it was impossible to take good photos. A podium was not prepared (digits were sticked while the decoration). Before the stage a sector only for the USA Team was prepared. Unfortunately we did not see the official opening, and start protocols were received by representatives of the teams just before the start. Additionally, every moment there was confusion in terms of classes. On the big screens we did not see any logos of the organizers, patrons and sponsors, and the background of the event was a large screen, which displays videos from the event. The whole competitions take place under the tent-like cover over the skating-rink. So draw conclusion yourself. out.

Why don't they post the full results sheet at the end of every day??? It's the first international championship where the full results are not online the day after the competition.

USA did great Yesterday! Wolf, Taylor, Cobra, Simon, Rich Lupkes, Roy Ramsfeld, Mike Bowling all 1st ( I may forgot some)....Bill Collins and more were second, we cleaned house! I see results are posted in a thread here, for everyone to see.
Bill Collins and Ryan Clark told me I couldn't miss this, it was something special if you are a A.W.'er and they were right! Its incredible! I have never competed so hard in my life, or had so much support from the team. 12 hours from first pull until my last and the guys are still with you all the way. That was the best day of my pulling life, just a honor to be there and be a part of something. Even interacting with my opponents was fun, until we pulled of course. Go USA!
