How many state championships have been ran this year where a non resident won 1st place, in any class; novice, pro, masters?
We Texans have too much pride to allow that to continually occur. IF a 1st place trophy leaves TX, we will work hard to ensure it doesn't happen again. Am I being too prideful? For those states that lost a 1st place trophy to another state, are y'all working to ensure it doesn't happen? Example: NM lost a few 1st place trophies...are they working to strengthen those team weaknesses. I don't know about you, but it would really motivate me to prevent that from happening again. We should all have state pride.

Are you guaranteeing that no one will win in Texas? If so, is there any money on the line?

I dont think your being too prideful just too unrealistic the only way 1st place trophies are gonna not leave the state is if the talent level and turnout is poor, are you telling me you have guys at their weight who can beat, Corey Miller, Brent Rakers, Don Underwood....not saying they will show but its always a possibility, I would venture to say no state title has ever had all its 1sts stay in state

dont misunderstand me Mike, I wasnt reffering to just TX even though that is the state in question, I'm saying no state is gonna have every 1st place trophy go home with them , if they do its because not many out of state pullers showed up, even California who is deep in serious talent at all weight classes gives up state titles to AZ and OR, its just alot to ask to say every 1st place trophy will stay in state

I was going to put up some of my own moolah....buuuut, this year's state championship is a charity event for a child of a friend of ours who has leukemia. Maybe we'll have some extra cash next year to put up some dough. It'll be a good show. All of the armwrestlers will sign a shirt and present to Aidan....and take a pic.
All I'm saying is that states should be prideful enough to keep up with the 1st place trophies. This is the TX STATE Championship.....Who wouldn't want that title? Whether your from another state, owning the TX State trophy is one of the biggest bragging rights someone can have....along with other states. The hosting state should, to a certain level, be embarrassed if a non-resident takes the title. Yes, I know the likes of Michael Todd, Brzenk, Bagent, and many more top ranked competitors live in other states. Why can't TX produce that level of competition? Lindley, Levullette, Robby, James and Lee are all good competitors....but, where are they on a true national level? Or, better yet, (heres a random idea) Why can't each state produce their own top ranked competitor.....and, at the end of each year, we have a TRUE national champ... 52 competitors....the overall winners of each state can represent!

well i like what you are saying gabe it is only right each state have one top man and in texas LINDLEY IS THAT GUY FOR NOW.Which i will say in 242 robby is that guy .but that is kind of unfair to the smaller weight classes example Corey miller will never beat lindley at the weight he is now but we all know he is one of the best that that weight .so would this be for all weight classes .or an over all

ouch... I have competed in the open classes in every tournament I've entered, with the exception of my very first one. For the most part, my record sucks in the open...I have a ways to go before I can even name myself in the same room as the other greats.
However, I guess I'm looking for some specific, organized competitive/bragging rights system between the states. Yes, Jerry, it would be unfair for the lower classes if we went with my initial idea. But, just think, if we had a true overall national champion, I think it would stir the competitive spirit even more. If we could, somehow, have an overalls final national tournament, where the 52 overall champions from each state compete in a random state each year...(or maybe Brzenks Utah), then it will truly define 2 things: 1. The top 52 ranked armwrestlers in the country each year 2. The Overall National Champion
Maybe there's an idea out there for the lower weight classes...however, there are some in those lower weight classes that can beat the heavier dudes..I guess this would be a way to determine the ultimate armwrestling champ....and grow state pride at the same time.... I think with this being my first state championship to help direct, its kinda given me some state pride....we may never move forward with the idea, its just that...an idea....can it be done? I don't even know if its ever been tried.....it would be interesting, to say the least.

If you want to run a TX vs. The Field bet, make it a points system not just 1st places.
