I used to live in denver and we made a couple trips to Estes park I am pretty sure there is no such thing as cheap anything there. Maybe you could look into staying in Boulder, Just an idea. There are a ton of elk there, they pretty much live on the golf course. Sorry I can't help you, I just thought of someone who might be able to help you I'll get back to you soon ok.

Thanks for the info, anything between Denver and Estes Park would be OK, of the closer the better, it's probably been 10 years since I was there in stes Park, and couldn't remember anything cheap either

You might check out Longmont Colorado, if you take I-25 North out of Denver it will be the exit you take to go to Estes Park, probably about 25 miles from Estes Park but I am sure they have some reasonable rates. I will keep asking around for you also.

Hey Mike, I have stayed in Estes a few times if it is off season the hotels are reasonable, but during the busy season (between may 15th and september ?) the hotels jump almost triple the winter cost. If you have kids or not I don't know but last year my family and I stayed at the Y.M.C.A. Of The Rockies and it was very nice kinda like camp. They have individual rooms with bunk beds and one queen size bed with a shower and stuff, no frigerators though. It's about 8 miles up the mountain from Estes. I'm sure they have a web site I'll see if I can find it for you. If not the town of Lyons is pretty close to Estes they might have cabins or possibly hotels. As Brandy said Longmont is close also, right in between (basically) Estes Park and Boulder for sight seeing. On the cabins I would get on it as soon as possible as they go fast. Hope that helps.

Check out KOA. If there is one nearby they have camping cabins that are pretty nice. ;D
