Why does a supermarch have to be staged at an event ? Why does a higher ranked puller have to meet you when you want the spot they already own ? Why does it have to be for big$$$$ ?
I say it goes like this.... You know a guy you think you can beat, you want his spot , you watch for a cheap ticket and hop out there. His obligation is pulling you at your convenience since you traveled then showing you the local color.....easy peasy. We all compete, we can straighten out the wrists, call fouls and even get a best of 21 under our belt in a garage setting.... So do it .... Make a vacation based around it. If you are chasing you invest by travel expense ( which can be cheap if monitored.... Even cross country) ... That is your obligation. If you are the chased.... You have to pull on request with a little notice.... They fly you oblige,.... I like it. People can make more head way in a short trip than nats and catch a great practice while getting away. No exceptions, refusal is forfeiture of your spot. This would make regional rankings solid as many would take a weekend trip with a friend to knock a guy or two off then practice and party. You can try the same guy regularly, no need for organizations, just 2 true refs.... After you pull together for an hour you both know who is who anyway.
Idk..... I like the idea

I can smash Rob. Come to KC or you are scared of me. JK
I do want to pull you. Not for a bunch of cash, rankings, or because I think I can beat you.
I just want to see how far I am from getting to that level. Hard to gauge when there is such a gap from top ten to top few.

I wanna see co, but not at 143... That'll mean I am mid way on my chemotherapy ... As for pulling, I'm down with the idea. If someone wants me... In shape or not, at that time I'm obligated to pull. If someone jumps me and beats a higher ranked puller,... Then gets ranked over me, ... Guess what? My turn to travel. I like the system. Every state has a team and almost every AWer has a table, should be easy to settle.
I live less than 2 hr drive from a few of the top guys in the world .... Better stay on your game chaps ... Lol.... Might catch ya on a weak moment..... Happy hunting !!!!
I am in mass now and can happily go to NH..... Bring it !!

That's pretty solid. It works around here that same way with the local street scene. There is a top 10 list floating around. If you aren't on the list you HAVE to call out one of the BOTTOM 3, so that the #10 guy isn't getting called out all the time. You can't just say hey I want to run the #4 guy when you aren't even on the list.
If the guy holding the spot refuses then he loses the spot. There is a certain time limit on accepting the challenge too. 2 weeks without defending your spot when called out you lose your spot.
Too simple, but with travel and schedules you can't fly somewhere without prior notice and expect someone to drop their plans to accept a challenge. Family vacations, celebrations, holidays, work, etc all can come up and throw a wrench in the arm wrestling plans..

You need to qualify who can ref something like this. Don't want to have a guys team mates reffing when you call him out.....

Rob You should make this thread with a poll. Just to see exactly how many people would be down for this. I love the idea, but there seem to be some kinks that would need to be worked out.
If i were a top 10 super heavyweight then i would be at Jerry C's house the day he gets back from Poland. So maybe a 2 week notice system?
Also wouldnt top guys be getting called out all the time? Like since i live close to Vazghen if i were his weight i would drive over there every other week to try to take his spot. Dont know how we could fix that. Maybe someone in the top 10 must accept a minimum of 1 persons challenge every month (or some amount) and isnt forced to do more.
What if i am Devon Laratt and 1 week before a huge tourney Jerry C shows up at my house wanting a supermatch, there goes devons arm for the tourney where he could have won money....
These are just some things that popped into my head. If we could make rules around this i would love this idea. JMO. ;D

There could definitely be rules for this. The current #1 guy obviously wont want the #2 guy traveling to his house WEEKLY. So maybe if you challenge a guy and lose, you have to wait a certain time to challenge him again. 3 months or so? And most definitely a rule about challenging a guy a couple of days before/after a tournament should exist.

I like the idea Pretty harsh.............if you refuse you forfeit your spot.................what if you have a vacation already planned you have a family function already planned you have a surgery already planned you have a baby on the way you have.............you have................you have.................. People do have lives beyond armwrestling and do plan and schedule things in their lives. Just because someone calls you out shouldn't mean you have to either cancel your plans or forfeit. Should be exceptions

Absolutely all good ideas. I agree with the before and after an event totally. This is more for the people who want their shot and travel to get it, but can never seem to bump into the pullers they really want to. And if they do more often than not a lot of variables taint it. The only recent option is sitting and hoping you can arrange a challenge match months away when you feel good today.
Refs, I am happy with teammates reffing.....we have all been victims of not calling fouls, hopped elbows, false starts, bent wrists..... Etc... I'd like to think you can give a guy a fair shake since he came to your home town and not consciously screw him. In other words, I am very comfortable going to Utah and pulling brzenk, bongard, hutchings, whoever.... And believing that all of them or bob brown will give me a solid ref job. You could always YouTube it too and get opinions.... But the final word on the results are left where you pull. If you are not under tourney guidelines there is no reason you can't pull best of 5.... Eat rest an hour, pull another best of 5.... And so on. By the end of the day you can have 5 or more best ofs under your belt..... We all should leave one of these get togethers knowing what's up. As far as being called out by much lesser ranked guys..... Its all fair game. If I am TRULY a top guy in the country then if #23 decides to hunt me expecting to hop twenty spots one of two will happen... He will most likely lose miserably and wished he picked a smaller target, or bust ass.... Jump ahead of everyone and take the spot.... Maybe where he belonged all along but was overlooked...
This keeps people on their toes and constantly in the mix between events With a 2 week notice we ALL could spare an hour or two to pull, it's what we love and what we do.... We are pullers, should be problem free

Within reason Karen..... If you want a guy and he's booked up the whole month.... That seems sketchy unless he's the one scheduled for surgery. Who can't take an hour or two in their own town.... Please... I could pull before or after a wedding, wake, work, bringing the kids to soccer, between my wife's contractions, on coffee break .... Cmon..... Be real Within reason people, maybe pickup that fancy piece of technology and make a call.... I don't recommend landing in Boston then wandering around with a bag of chalk and some creative hoping to bump into me..... We should have an arrangement first, didn't think I had to illustrate that. I am not able to travel now, life is very busy, I'm picking up a business, just had my second baby.... Blah blah....., better believe I have a few hours a day if I really want them..... Considering an hour should be plenty it's a quicker gig than knocking a workout at the local gym.
Fact is, if you are never available or always injured.... You should lose your spot, that's not harsh it's true. If you can't be available ever to defend your spot then you never really owned it.
Ultimate fighter works like this..... People get called out injured, in prepared.... Oh well, you want the spot it's up to you to hold it.......
Again, within reason....if my family gets taken down by ebola and I can't get out of bed for 6 months to answer challenges... Well, actually I should lose my spot.... Beyond circumstances fact is I am not an active armwrestler.....If I don't armwrestle, for any reason, how can I maintain ? Jmo
