My third year of pulling is almost over and I wanted to look back at the progress and setbacks for the year. Jan – 1st 220 IL states (Got a win over Brent) Feb – PFTH – pulled in a class of 14 heavies as 220 would have only been me and Bill L. Took third to Underwood and Zinna (both beat me easily) March - 1st 242 in parker SD First time I pulled Josten and Corey Miller. April – 1st 242 at Contraband days May – Pulled supermatch with Josten, won 3-0. Won a war with Bill L in the 220 class and lost to Brent in the finals, took second. June – Supermatch with Doug Allen won 3-2. Won the hook class over Stump. Sep – 1st 242 MO state over Ryan Clark and Eric Brown Oct - 2nd 242 OK state to Chris Chandler. Beat Mark Nutche who beat me in 2010 Nov – Supermatch with Max Moore won 3-0. I still pull like a caveman and need more stamina but my tendon strength is getting better. RVJ and Tom imho are the best 220’s. I want to close the gap on them in 2012 So lets hear what you alls year looked like? ??

.Awesome thread, I'll see what I can remember from the year.
January- Beat Shane Gundrum right 2-1 and Mike Mcgrath 2-0 left in supermatches, the match with Shane really jump started my year, I have looked up to him since I started in the sport a few years ago. February- Got my a$$ handed to me 4 times by Storm Chellino April- Won 3 open classes at the Philly Sports expo and took first place left hand at a small event in central PA the same weekend. June- Took 3rd at AAA nats in the 187 class and got my first tournament win on Art Spindler, I also got schooled by Miller and Shoey August- Almost beat John Ruggerio!!!! and beat kris mikels lefty. September- Me and Adam Cook ran a great local tournament, I lost left handed to Tim Lewis and won right in a supermatch. October- Pulled 4 classes in Atlantic City and got burned out way before I placed in any class. December- Beat Socrates Fronhoffer 3-2 right hand in some awesome wars, by far my most proud accomplishment this year.

What a year 2011 has been for me both on and off the table. Not only did I feel I make good progress on the table, but I made some significant lifestyle changes and lost a lot of weight since college ended in December 2010.
Highlights--
January 1-Weight 235
January--Moved back to PA from Colorado Feb--Last tournament in 242 class (NM State) March--Won supermatch left handed in Parker, SD 3-1 against Cameron Chambers (Iowa) Beat Matt Gundrum left handed in supermatch in Berln, NY 2-0 April--made 209 for the first time at NAL I in Maryland May 1--UAL Lake Tahoe competed in 205 class and won left handed amateur class. Beat Mac Telle (CA) in $$ supermatch left handed 4-2 May 29- Competed in 198 for the first time in Tonapah, NV at a cash event. Beat Kyle Knapp (NV/MI) left handed up top. August--Unified Nationals Competed in 187 class for first time (missed 176 by 4.5 lbs at weigh-ins). Even though I lost to Chase Stratton (MO) I gave him an unexpected inside war right handed that was one of the best matches of the tournament. First tournament win over Justin Kauffman (former teammate CO) and placed 5th right handed and 4th left handed which was very respectable. September, supermatch with Joe Canazzi won left lost right in Buffalo, NY. Same result as Denver Nov, 2010. November--made 176 for the first time in Louisville, KY. Place 4th right out of 18 guys right only 2 losses were to Cobra. Got first ever tournament win on CJ Whitfield right handed. December-Nashville, TN made 176 for the 2nd time. Supermatch with CJ Whitfield. Lost Right 3-0, won left 3-1.
I have a long way to go in 2012 but am excited that I finally feel competitive in these new weight classes. I feel MUCH better too.

Very impressive Steve, thats a good year by any standard.
I appreciate the mention even though I haven't done anything in well over a year.
2011 was a year come and gone without even seeing a table until tonight. I say 2012 will be a great year, I am very motivated again and training....
