Random thought. I know there are charity events out there, but most are small.
What about trying a BIG charity event. Wouldn't it be easier to get big sponsors that way? Then use that as a starting point to show the possible numbers. Just thinking out loud.

Neil Pickup.... That's the now and immediate future
Given his drive, vast knowledge of the sport and it's participants, an understanding of what makes AW watchable and highlighting matches that showcase that, his gift of gab, stage presence, how much he has done already.... I feel safe to say if when all is said and done if he hasn't sparked a REAL interest with how he orchestrates his show.... We won't see it. Unless of course one of us becomes a billionaire tycoon and wants to invest in the sport and showcase it on our own channel and give away sponsorship money from within..... Here's to wishing

Thanks for responding, Robert. Valuable insight. I have a question. In the past, armwrestling has done these things and had varying levels of exposure. Yukon Jack, ABC Wide World of Sports (this lasted for many years), WPAA... What all had in common is that the sport was not tailored to TV presentation the way ArmWars has been. I'm talking the actual format, not the production value. So the question is, how to recreate this but learning from the past and not just duplicating it. World's Strongest Man has done pretty well for itself and seems to be a likely first goal for us. I have no illusions that we will be the UFC anytime soon. What do you think our prospects would be if someone were to meet with World's Strongest Man's team and possibly do some bundling? Our sport appeals to their existing fan base as well as is applicable to their existing sponsors. "World's Strongest Man - Armwrestling Division" could provide some variety of content for them that they wouldn't have to provide themselves. It would give them some fresh copy and give our sport some pull-through. I think we'd all love to be a standalone product, but could it be easier to bundle and ride some coat tails instead of blazing trails all alone at first? which means watching our sport in a tournament style may never be seen LIVE. World's stongest men contest are always seen on edit....our format for our normal tourneys are often drug out and long...normal good run tourney takes about 4-5 hrs... to reach nationwide TV, we're gonna have to create TITLES that mean something...something that a shaqille O'neal type would want to try for on a nationwide level........(example using shaq) but as far as live?....title challenge matches during a fight card could be a start?...unfortunetly only "the shows" would be chosen for stuff of that nature...UNDERWOODS / NELSON / BAGENT / CADORETTE / .....guys who are used to the attention. heavyweight / middle / light. a little sumthin i'm working on here with a few people. but it's nice to see that it's only a matter of time before it's on TV in a good way.....i can feel it. Who in the world wants to watch a bracket event on TV? I'm an armwrestler, and even I don't want to see that.

I watched them too. Imagine if they'd have been good for TV. We might have been watching new ones.

LOL Me too, but we are armwrestlers......its the non armwrestlers who we have to keep interested Sent from my DROID2 using ProBoards I was armwrestling on picnic tables and barrels before I watched those shows.... That style show could return.... But not live. Just formatted with same interesting characters. It would be a good beginning. I'd say if someone will pay to televise catching gators in a swamp?... I'd sure somewhere a producer is looking for an interesting format for armwrestling... TK

Bring the armwrestling to the crowd, the fan base does not already exist so steal fans from a sport where it already does exist, if you showcase armwrestling in front of 15000 you are bound to gain some new fans, I have talk to robert drenk about this and he said he was working on doing that very thing, there are armwrestlers in most big cities, we need someone with some pull to contact the entertainment dept for these different sport franchise and get them to give us ten minutes during halftime or between periods......its not gonna change over night but if we can get some hype stirred up among the general population we will be moving in the right direction Sent from my DROID2 using ProBoards that David is a GREAT idea....I've been working with a guy in my area and i'm also trying to get something like that going....share venues with something already heavily fan-based. GREAT IDEA! TK Trafford Centre, Manchester (500,000 People in one Weekend & standing Crowds up to 15,000) FIBO Essen, Germany (100,000 people over the weekend & standing crowds of 3,000) SENI Combat Sports Show (65,000 people over the weekend & 2,000 standing crowds) Arnold Classic Europe, Madrid............ Mr. Olympia, Vegas................ Target Demographic.......CHECK ! HUGE NUMBERS........CHECK........weekly follow on T.V. Internationally........CHECK !!! increasing the Sports notoriety & credability............ OHHH HELL YEH !!!

Here's to wishing BLOODY HELL !!! Just read this post Genuinely, IMPACTED me Rob. Thank you mate, I will continue to try my absolute best to reach the End Game mate. It is definately starting to have a positive effect on the sports credability & recognition in Europe now, more Pullers than EVER BEFORE are coming into Armwrestling & people have become more comfortable with the Fact that we are A REAL SPORT !!! Slowly BUT SURELY making head way in the right direction BUT much more to do. Its funny BUT when you make something SPECIFICALLY for the T.V. the live show sometimes has to suffer to a degree in order to make the END PRODUCT which REALLY gets infront of the Eyeballs (in terms of numbers) be ON POINT !!!Cheers Neil
