Lesson learned, you should practice the ref's grip in practice. Also, it looked like you started with your wrist bent backwards a bit.

Tank, you've got some real power.
From what I see, in your match with Darnell he had total hand control before the match. It was a perfect grip, I don't mean he had an advantage. What I mean is he had big hands and his pinky had your wrist captured. On the GO, you tried to apply a bunch of back pressure and found yourself contained in his hand. That's why your wrist buckled and your knuckles dropped forward.
In the second match, your power is very clearly seen. This was a much smarter match on your part. Notice, though, that when you went to the hook you were focused on your opponent's arm. You never loosened your grip enough to slide up and get pressure on his fingers. Because you were squeezing his hand, you kept your own hand too low to attack his fingers / wrist.
I'd say you are doing very very well. It will take some time pulling Pros to learn how to shift the focus to hand control. Amateurs as a rule don't attack the hand and a good strong arm like yours will usually win. Pros attack the hand, or at least control the hand- which really shifts the pressures and stresses you feel on your arm during the match.
Watch your videos again. Imagine what your power would do if you applied it to rolling your opponents' fingers/hand backwards. All that power would be directed at their wrist and take some of that strength out of their sidepressure.

There are a couple of teams in NC that train weekly, you need to hook up with someone to teach you. Check the armwrestlers contacts on here and also the training page. Rick Layton and James Retarides come to mind offhand as two that would benifit you greatly

Tank, I was shocked at how much you have improved over the last year. For someone relatively new to the sport you are doing great! Guys with bigger hands and longer fingers usually benefit from the refs grip. Practice this way. It sounds like you are a lot like I was when I first started. I felt like I needed to get my hand WAY around the other guys and get a good BITE or I felt like I was in trouble. Over time you will get over that feeling. Darnel is quickly becoming top notch so don't feel ANY shame in losing to him. He took a few others out Saturday as well. BTW, you are welcome to come pull with us anytime. We pull on Monday nights at 8 pm but we could adjust the time a little for you if need be. Keep up the good work.
Oh yea, John Wilson is WAY smarter than me but I still OWN him on the table!
