I'm interested in people's opinions regarding AWing and The Olympics. How will it benefit AWing and our athletes?
I'd like to keep this open and respectful. I'm not looking to start an argument, I'd just like to hear opinions on this.

There are people who never hear of or see armwrestling so if it was in the olympics it would help to make it more popular. Also there are people who don't look at armwrestling as a sport but more of a bar room hobby so maybe it would help to convince those people otherwise. When I tell people that I am representing my country at the WAF Worlds they say cool.. If I told the same people I was representing my country at the olympics it would be a bigger deal to them in my opinion. Everyone loves the olympics.. ;D

Tero you are wrong. Believe me, if ArmWrestling became an Olympic sport, none of those names would be on the list.
Think of how many Olympic athletes you actually know personally.

Tero you are wrong. Believe me, if ArmWrestling became an Olympic sport, none of those names would be on the list. Probably not, I was just trying to use some imagination IF IT ALREADY WAS an Olympic sport and what kind of impact it would have on the level of competition NOW presenting those names since I can't give an example from possible future. Or did you have some other point with this? Think of how many Olympic athletes you actually know personally.

There could be other names like Eric Spoto Magnus Samuelsson Mariusz Pudzianowski etc. Being in the Olympics would have an effect on peoples choices and priorities. People from other strength sports would choose AW as their main sport if it was an Olympic sport...at least a year or two before the competition I believe.

Along with anthony I agree with what he had said, I from a young age wanted to compete in the Olympics and didn't make it, could I in AW I dont know but I would train so hard and people would then understand why I train the way I do,and endure the pain, and the healing process day to day week by week, instead of( oh armwrestling yeah I do that at the bar to when Im drinking sometimes my buddy joey he's never been beat..).. People would respect our sport maby!? atleast you wouldnt have to feel like a tard when you tell people you armwrestle......
