Had my MRI on my right elbow this week. The doctor said that the tendons were fine but that I had bone spurs, calcium buildups and a lot of arthritis. He said that my cartilage was badly worn and the bone was rubbing the tendon when I opened my arm to about 90 degrees. I have always had a tremendous back pressure lock at about this same point. It has been gone for about 8-10 months now. I asked if there was anything they could do about the arthritis and he said MAYBE. He said that they could go in and scope it and try to clean it up. He said it may or may not help. He did not sound very encouraging. Has anyone else dealt with this problem?

That's a drag Rick I had one break off two years ago and tear things up in my left. They had to slice me couldn't scope it. I live with those in my back every day and it's annoying!!!!!

Been there, done that........
My suggestion is that if your thinking of surgery to fix the problem than DONT do it. As soon as you start pulling again it will come back.

I have elbow arthritis and bone spurs from benching all those years. Surprisingly, pulling has pretty much removed all of the pain I used to have. Still can't extend my left arm all the way, but pretty much pain free. I think part of my issue was a muscle imbalance from all the tricep work and very limited bicep work forever.
Docs recommended surgery, I decided to wait it out and see. Rest and changing to different training worked well.

I definitely would not have had the surgery if I didn't have the big piece of bone cutting everythin up in there

Been there Rick on all of the above. Some spurs came loose and lodged between a tendon and a bone on the bottom of my elbow. I did the surgery and had the spurs and loose fragments removed also had the arthritis cleaned out. It took about 6 months to recover fully. The arthritis will come back. Celebrex keeps me in the game!
