On July 8th, Cody Hadley from Arizona will have special supermatches against 5 Korean armwrestlers. (both right and left handed) Cody took 2nd place left and 3rd place right in the 2011 nationals 75 kg novice division - which is a great achievement. Considering what I had experienced in the U.S., I believe no one under 75kg in Korea will be able to give him intense armfights. So, Cody and I came up with the following format. Cody vs. K-armwrestler 1 (Lightest guy) Cody vs. K-armwrestler 2 (2nd lightest guy) Cody vs. K-Armwrestler 3 (3rd lightest guy) Cody vs. K-armwrestler 4 (4th lightest guy) Cody vs. K-armwrestler 5 (Heaviest guy) I started open casting for this event a few days ago, and I already have five armwrestlers for right handed matches and two armwrestlers for left handed. I will keep this thread updated once everything is decided. This is the place where the supermatch event will take place. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ video upload date: Aug.02 The event was very successful, and I can't thank enough to Cody Hadley for being part of the history of Korea Armwrestling.

Many of them on the list are pulling in this video (MLA ranking decision matches, round robin). The stage in this video is where Cody Hadley's supermatches will take place.

Seung Min, looks like a great event! Is the young man with the green MLA shirt and the glasses the same guy that was doing the one-arm barbell curls with the Manus Grips? Either way, he looks like he is going to be a force in this sport!

I think this is a very good result. Rather than having everyone get beat up by a Pro, the South Korean team got to test themselves against someone who is a very good armwrestler but who is also on about the same experience level as they are.
Seung Min, how do you believe your team has improved since Simon's visit? It looks to me like they have put the lessons they got from Simon to very good use. Congratulations.
I am not surprised to see that Seung-Yeol won. He is a Pro caliber puller at 220 lbs. He would do very well in Open competition here the US, as he already has proven by beating some very accomplished Pro pullers here.

Hello, John (Sorry for the delay in response) I can tell that Simon's visit back in 2010 was a turning point to Korea Armwrestling. For the first time, Korean armwrestlers had a chance to feel the power of a world class armwrestler who showed them a whole different world of armwrestling in terms of strength, power, and techniques; since then, they realized they need to train harder, together, and most importantly, "smarter." They started having more table time in a regular basis, helping (not just competing) each other, and sharing information/lessons learned. :-) I believe my team members (MLA Korea) will be ready for a much bigger stage in 3 years.

The progress most definitely shows that MLA has risen to a new level. Congratulations to you and your team.
