Weight Classes: (NOTE: Due to the amount of prize money involved, there must be at least 5 competitors in a weight class to run class. If there are less than 5 entries in a class when registration closes, the class will be cancelled and competitors will be moved up to the next division.)

**There will be a 5 lb clothing allowance**
Prizes: All Cash (No Trophies)
This is a very unique prize system. The more people that come out to play, the more we can do. In Theory, one competitor could win as much as $1100 in cash if they win all 4 classes and all classes are stacked.....
All classes will pay $100 for first place if there are 5-10 entries If there are 11-15 entries in a class, 1st place will pay $150, 2nd place will pay $75. If there are 16 or more entries in a class, 1st place will pay $200, 2nd place will be $100, 3rd place will pay $50.
ALSO: TOP PRIZE----> Whichever class is the MOST STACKED will pay a $500 cash prize for first place instead of the normal amount. In case of a tie, the extra $ will be split among the classes that are tied for MOST STACKED.
Entry Fee: $40 / for 1st entry $10 for each additional entry (Limit 4 entries per competitor) This means pulling right and left will cost $50 (40 +10)
This INCLUDES the price of EXPO admission.
All Non-Competing Spectators must pay the admission fee to the MMA Sports Expo.
Which class will pay the big money? Its up for you all to decide!!

Anyone that walks around at 183 or below can feasibly make the 170 class with the clothing allowance consideration.
Anyone that walks around at 218 or below can feasibly make the 205 class.
No one at 171 will be pulling 205 Richard

Jason, thanks for catching this.... The fliers were made up by the expo staff and were printed with the incorrect information (last year's weight classes and prizes) so I cannot post that since it does not match the correct info. All the information on this page is correct and up-to-date.

Thanks again for coming out everyone...it was a hot day but the venue was awesome and the prizes were great about $1400 in cash was paid out in prize money. I would like to thank our sponsors for without them this event would not have been possible.
I'd like to double these payouts next year to over $2500, but in order to do so I will need a way to guarantee turnout....prepaid entries via paypal, etc....info to come for the 4th annual event in early 2013...see you all next year!!

I think prepaid entrees could be a huge part of running successful tournaments in the future because as the entrees go up the prize money can as well great job on this event Tim nice to see you won the money in the most stacked class, good thing there weren't any recognized pros there just busting your balls.

David, first of all thank you...my left was on yesterday and I beat everyone that showed up in the class. You can't beat people that don't show up...anyone could have showed up that's the way I look at it....their choice.
As far as the pre-pay stuff.....promoters have asked why it doesn't work? The truth of the matter is...this is OUR problem as a community. Arm wrestlers in general often make last minute decisions up to the night before or even morning of a tournament to decide whether to go....factors may include whether they can get off work, whether other people can go in a group with them to split expenses, whether there arm feels recovered xyz event, there are others but these are the main 3.
Now you might say that we can't control these things BUT....look at other sports like power lifting and bodybuilding for example. Competitors have to choose which meets they are going to attend 3-4 weeks before the date of the competition. Bodybuilding takes several months actually b/c of the need to prepare for a comp physique wise....but power lifters have to commit with a pre-paid entry or they don't lift. USAPL and all the other legit feds all work this way, there is no walk-up registration the day of the event.
I know UAL did some of this but they also allowed walk up registration.
We always whine and complain about the lack of prize $$ and/or the lack of competition in certain classes but yet we are unwilling to bend as to how we do events as a whole.
I'm just thinking from a promoters point of view, If I knew 3 weeks in advance that 60 people were confirmed and coming to pull (or at least made a non-refundable entry fee), I and other promoters would be able to do so much more in terms paying out good prize $ at events. We would also be able to give potential sponsors guaranteed numbers so they could think about how much $ they are willing to sponsor with.
The problem is that other sports are currently doing this are we are not. It really isn't that hard other than people like the convenience of the last minute stuff. But let's ask ourselves if the system is really working in its current format? Now we could still have some events that allow walk-up but I'd like to see more of this personally for state championship level events and higher. I'm sure a lot of promoters would love it too....and from a competitor's point of view too....everyone debates whether a 6-8 hour drive is worth it and whether there will be competition in their class but yet no one ever knows.
I think before we knock it down we should at least consider it.
And promoters could even put the link to the payment website right underneath their tournament post on this board so everything would be very easy to find. If it was like that, I would use it every time.
