A good side pressure hit works too, but you had better hit first and hit hard.

a strong back pressure without seperating your shoulder before the go,then a strong side pressure to seperate his hand from his shoulder,so he cant use his shoulder.

I agee with all above, and a fast start always helps. If fast enough you can even beat the guy with a good inside move.

This is a problem that I had and still have to some extent. I use backpressure before the start. Then on go remember that they are diving into you. I pull with my lat to the back of the pad and try to separate them then straight to the side. Of coarse you have to do this as quick as possible.

OR DIVE your shoulder at their shoulder to stop their forward momentum. with SIDE PRESSURE.You will fall into a hook. IF you want to be in a hook.

Mr.Binnie I admire your expertise in the opinion stated on here. BUT I believe i have better advice,,, listen... if you want to stop the guys shoulder roll, do this... Right on the "Go" You lift your leading foot very fast and nail him in the genitals and then HIT him to the pad any way you wish. That should do it!

This manuever should work for a top-roll as well. But the probability is tougher if the guy hooks (joke...nothing personal) that's why im not sure how ill do with Mr.Binnie in a hook match
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

The other trick is to make yourself lose while your gripped up before hearing the 'Go!' twice andmake a loud argument so the ref dont wanna hear what neither has to say so it looks like your opponent is jumping the go. The worst that could happen is that your opponent could get disqualified and barred from ever competing again because he kept arguing when the ref didnt want to hear it. Hey guys i didnt win the 'few' titles i won just like that ya know... To win these things you gotta be a TRUE champion and strategist , I demonstrated up here with these techniques. GOTTA USE THE TECHNIQUE! DO NOT ONLY RELY ON STRENGTH!!

you could also use your finger to travel up your opponents hand with your arm still connected to your should and then pull in a direction where your taking your opponents arm away from his shoulder if you need to in the match .focus on keeping your wrist high during the match, make sure the back pressure is connected to your wrist primarily.
