I have, what could turn out to be, a very inane question. I have only been armwrestling for about 6 months. I have found most of my info off of the internet reading articles and interviews, some by guys on this site. In that short period of time, i've noticed that there are very few armwrestlers that seemed to be accepted by almost everyone as elite. One of them is named Khadzimurat Zoloev. Finally I will get to the point...Why is he so good? I realize that it must be a combination of things, I just don't know what those things are. Is it mostly how he trains, how long or intense. Is it that he's genetically gifted somehow. I've noticed in my short time that guys who are strong at the gym aren't necessarily good armwrestlers. WHy is this? I ask this because Khadzimurat doesn't look like he would be a good armwrestler to me. I guess it's mostly because he is kind of a small guy(in comparison to some of you monsters), yet he still pulls heavier guys and often wins. Can I get some help please(not sarcasm)lol.

I think it's a combination of things, but mainly genetic . considering his father and uncle were world champs ( I think ) he probably started young too. He obviously trains hard...
I know he isn't a huge guy... On a scale... But if you look at the development of his upper body he definitely looks the part.... Thick wrist, big forearms and arms ... He's lean and in overall good shape.
I have seen " monsters" in a gym with 40" waists and small forearms and joints... But they cast a big shadow.
There are a lot of factors that could be analyzed and be given some credit to his level... I personally think it was predetermined at conception and him deciding to take up the sport. The fact that there is more pride and support for arm wrestlers where he comes from helps a bit too.

Yeah, where he comes from Arm Wrestling is probably a Government funded sport and he has more time to train and become elite.

He is from the area of Georgia, Ossetia, and this area has the most World Champions in SPORTs, then any area of the World...so that possibly has something to do with it..
Also, I my be wrong, but I believe Arsen, is also from there... And many other Pullers too

I am guessing a combination of time in sport, intensity of training, and genetics. As was mentioned above, his dad and grandpa were World Champs/very good armwrestlers, he probably started as a kid. But I wonder about this, too. Because there are other kids who train hard and aren't on Zoloev's level, although most armwrestlers that start as kids seem to end up being really good, and most probably don't train as hard as Zoloev I would guess.

I agree this guy is weak and his body is not built for this sport

Khadzimurat Zoloev is beast, Toddzilla wrecked him though in vegas. And yeah his arm in that photo is insane.

Toddzilla had a big weight advantage. No one near his weight is even close. PFP champ.

His muscle in that pic goes all the way down to his wrist! That's pretty rare.

The last stats I saw on Zoloev were that he's 6', 172lbs, his biceps are 17" and his forearms are 17"...to me..that is ridiculous. Most guys at 172lbs aren't sporting 17" biceps...and 17" forearms are rare no matter how much you weigh. Physique aside, the way he owns guys (Cadorette, Pushkar, etc etc) that outweigh him by 75+lbs speaks volumes to the power and TECHNIQUE he has. The guy is a freak.

Let's be real.... Those measurements are fake... Just like ALL measurement claims on the Internet. He IS very strong, but measurements are off. I brought a tape to an AW tournament once... Only one guy in the room had 17" forearm .... And that was on a 300+lber and goose necked. As far as bicep goes... Some really big 200lbers were 17 and change... But they looked like all arms. To put it in perspective... I measured a 267 lb Dave Chaffee ... His forearm was a touch under 16" at a 90 degree angle flexed and arm was a touch over 18-18 1/4.,. He is a big man....
It's all propaganda

17 bicep is believable, but not forearm. When my arms were 16 7/8". No one guessed under 18", and didn't believe what they really were.

I've followed pro bodybuilding since I was in my teens, and they do the same thing with their body measurements. Everybody supposedly has 20inch arms, but they don't tell you that they are pumped and flexed. A 20inch "cold" muscular arm is very rare...As is a 17inch forearm. Denis Cyplenkov's arms look to be about 20 though.
