No contract $8.99 a month, I would sign up and not think twice about the monthly fee.

I agree Jeff. But I'd pay 11.50 and sign up today. Only reason is because his annual plan is equal to paying 9.95 a month. So the 11.50 a month sounds fair as he probably gets charged a merchant charge...

$8-10/month should be the goal. That's a small amount of money that a good percentage of the population doesn't mind "throwing away" on a luxury (i.e. a gym membership, Netflix, Rhapsody, etc).
That being said, the real problem is content. You can't base subscriptions on a set number of months if there is no guarantee of new monthly content.
This conversation has been had countless times on this board.
My opinion is that ArmTV needs to network. It needs to have affiliate tournament filmers throughout the continent or even across the pond to do the filming on behalf of the website. In many cases there are people that are willing to provide the footage for free. In some cases an incentive may be necessary. In either event it's cheaper than one man flying all over the country to film select tournaments. You end up with more content and lower operating costs.
Just my take. The same take I've had for many years now.

I think that is a great idea Eric . I mean Gary always says arm wrestlers need to come together...you would think us pullers taping a tournament for Gary is just that. Because that would be us contributing. I mean a lot of Gary's content on arm tv is submitted videos from genorous pullers. I'm talking about the content before arm tv launhed. Which is a lot of content giving to him.

Good idea's Erick. .. I'd like to hear Gary's thought on this for sure.
I recently joined & got the special $10 a month deal... which I'm pretty happy with! Gary was really on top of the Arnold's and did an excellent job posting those vids quickly! Thx Gary!

I'm also happy to pay the 60 for 6 months but I do understand a demand for a better monthly deal, although I think it should be $12 bucks or so, that way you are still getting a discount it you buy months at a time, but the penalty for not doing so should not be double the price.

I'm not Gary, but I do want to point out that what Gary asks for costs about the same as 2 lattes or mochas. For me comparing this to netflix is just not the same as it is more than entertainment it is a research tool on making my game better! It seems reasonable to me to charge more if you only want to get a month at a time not only for transaction fees, but as one who does my own accounting for the two businesses I run here there is also time involved. No one has worked harder or been more supportive for us as pullers than Gary (taking nothing away from the good work that others do)

John, the problem is that not every professional armwrestler will do the same thing, and even if every single one did, it's not enough to support the website. ArmTV still needs casual followers...the subscribers that will sign up just to check out some cool footage, not necessarily to study opponents. What can get a casual fan to sign up? A reasonable price point and an abundance of fresh footage. Even then, ArmTV will never be a juggernaut. It's still a site devoted to an obscure sport that the mainstream won't spend money on. But with the right balance of subscribers and operating costs it can be a viable business with limited margins (for Gary) and an entertaining website with an acceptable amount of fresh footage every month (for us).

That's a good point Eric. I simply put that out there because I often hear complaints about things that a great deal of effort went into from someone will will spend twice as much money for a few cups of coffee that takes 2 minutes to make. From the other standpoint of drawing others in is are more than one challenge, and I continue to see several who are providing options to get us in the public eye. As more pullers do the crossfit I see new relationships building and would hope that some of those people would be drawn into our sport. I've supportd Gary from the beginning not just for the footage, but because he has continually tried to find new ways to make us known. To me that is worth our support, and that is all I can do to help Gary is do my little part and hope that others will too

we were at 10 per mo. and guess what people signed up and cancelled signed up and cancelled. the 10 per month is for commitment. I gave a 6 for 60 two months ago.
I don't see anyone complaining about entry fees..and yet you'll double triple or quadruple class. then blow even more on beer after.
