This may have been a complete waste of time but I have been diligently tracking commitments and potential entries for the past couple of months, updating sometimes multiple times per day. It is based completely off what I have been told by each puller which I have detailed down by class. I have used the #'s as leverage with gaining potential sponsors, promoting class sizes, determining the flow, etc. I know people have situation changes and don't hold up to their commitments for various reasons, but the neat thing is, none of these numbers include the tournament day pullers that just show up and pull. Last year 25% of the pullers that pulled in the novice only tournament just showed up. I have done heavy online and local marketing and have promoted the tournament to the best of my ability so we will have to see how it all turns out. Any thoughts? Is there anyone else that is coming that hasn't already told me?

Wait a minute.
Forty female entries? I'd like to see if this actually comes true.
Great numbers overall though.

John I have focused a lot of my energy around promoting and growing the ladies class. With the local roller derby team sponsorship it should put us close to 40 entries if everyone shows. If they don't, then we still have the biker ladies who pull there every year that will jump in the day of!

Then I think you have successfully done what no other promoter has been able to do. Congratulations to you sir.
The ladies in this sport should take notice of this.
The sport should stop trying to beg the ladies to show up and compete. The ladies should just show up and pull (in numbers). They are catered to more than any other group but are the ones who are the most vocal about feeling left out. If you successfully do this Mr. Janes at more than one event then the sport may be in a good spot for growth.
All the best with this.

The folks that are really growing are the guys all around the state holding organized practices where their were none and my team mates that are promoting word of mouth. I've just created the opportunity for them to grow it.

I basically told them that Gulley will be giving away free hugs and kisses to all the ladies. My main motivation was seeing Tracy Fann disappointed traveling to half a dozen tournaments in the past 6 months to compete in women's classes with 3-4 ladies, half of which had to be talked into pulling by their husbands or parents. I just want to see some growth and will help any way I can.

Jeff has indeed put in LOTS of hours tracking and promoting this tournament. Countless emails getting sponsorships. His skills for being a promotor/director for this tournament have blown me away. Hes made countless connections for future activities as well. This is going to be an awesome tournament and i do believe its gonna be the LARGEST novice tourn in the nation. We hope so anyway. 1 WEEK AWAY !!!!
