It is amazing that someone would be upset that there is more than one organization that promotes arm wrestling at the state, national, or world levels.
In my youth I promoted a few small contests with the IAF and everything was great. I competed in AAA and IAF and honestly if you won the AAA state title you wanted to win the IAF too. It is great to see arm wrestling growing and with growth comes choices! AAA, WAF, IAF, Gene Camp, Average Joe, who ever it is if you enter and win - You the man that day!

Choosing to run your own state championship when there is already an established state championship running is outright disrespectful and just adds another diluted title to our sport. I guess it just fits into the path our sport is headed... 3 Nationals, steroids, men entering women's classes, loud mouthed amatuers getting "supermatches", pro armwrestlers hanging off their competitor's arm below the table for 6 minutes, the ghost town that is female armwrestling in the US... SMH "WORD"

Leagues, Organizations, and history.....What and when it started.....BLAH BLAH BLAH.
Does it really matter? So the IAF is coming to Florida. Ok, another tourney to chose from is even better. Should there be only 1 state tourney? YES Should there be only 1 organzation state tourney? YES Should there be only 1 organization per state? NO
Now we will have a IAF State Champ and AAA Champ.--What is the beef?
When I started pulling years ago, there was a State Championship and some tourney Dale Vicos was running. When Greg Helms brought Fla. States to Destin, I pulled in my 1st State Championships. To me personally that was Florida States. Then I (like Todd King) started putting on a tourney called Battle at the Beach (which is still going strong.) I didn't hear Dale screaming about stepping on his toes and putting on tourney after tourney since he established himself. Today, Todd King is trying his best to promote his Tourney all over the south. I personally think he is doing a good job. Now IAF is coming to Florida and promoting Florida States. GOOD.
We know Karen Bean AAA puts on Florida States in December and does a fine job. I respect her for her efforts and fully support AAA States.
I really don't have a gripe if for example the following happens: AAA State Championship Chuck Westberry IAF State Championship Todd King
It's your choice to pull or not. Support or not. Lets just armwrestle. "That's what I say jack"- si duck dynasty

Thanks for the post Carey. To set the record a little straight the IAF was running tournaments in S. Florida many years ago when Al Gross was the IAF State Director. I don't believe Todd was even armwrestling then so he wouldnt remember those events. Frank Dias did an awesome job of promoting IAF events back in the day. Over the past 40 years there have been many new assoc that have come down the pike that thought they had the better idea, even today there is a rogue WAF out there still running WAF World Champiuonships. It really has little to do with respect as they all thought they had a better idea. Couple years ago I had a meeting with a group of armwrestlers that complained there were not enough tournaments. As long as the events are spaced far enough apart to not make people choose one or the other I see no problem.

I'm sure we'll find that AAA's was the very first nationals? held that position for many years? am i wrong? and it's the other groups that's watered down the value of nationals we have today.... then when you call someone a State champion? FOR THE 8 YEARS I'VE BEEN IN THE SPORT.....Florida states was held once a year...not twice.....and the pullers goal of being state champions led through this event....now I know this is beating the DEAD horse, but you kinda brought it back up......i've not once tried to be a Florida States event...even though I'm a separate organization.....because of that level of respect. ......IAF may have been here years ago? a LONG A$$ time ago.....BUT I've been here in this sport 8 years and aint seen IAF one in this state.....so's it's disrespectful to copy someone elses event that has been established 16 years prior.....now I really don't have a DOG in this fight, but i'm an A$$hole who will stand up for friends and stand up for things that HELP or HURT our "sport"...like say "men pulling women's classes type stuff?.....but like I said...DEAD horse....Anthony plans to change the title, and It was a respectful move on his part...... I'm glad he made the decision. I look forward to doing a MASS state championship very very soon TK

If you want to run a MA States there good luck. As for your continued support of a friend why would you start your own armwrestling assoc when your good friend who you respect already has one and has been in the state of FL for years. Sounds like you are trying to take pullers from your friend instead of joining AAA and supporting your friend. If I remember right your were one of the armwrestlers I met with and was told there are not enough events in FL. So I guess the right thing to do for a friend would be to run all your events under AAA.

I don't go around calling my events Florida States or Battle of the beach either.....but IAF marches at the beat if their own drum..... Posting their events on top of others and STEALING their titles.......... You know good and well when you were after me to be your director... You're goal was to put AAA out...... And that inspired to me to go work for Karen.... She was doing good things in Florida and hosting great events.... If you feel good about non-creativity and stealing titles? Then go ahead ... You never know... NFA & AAA would make a hell of a TEAM... But... Myself and Willie are ok.... Is it you that has a problem here eh? Now that's a little funny.. Glove off... Turn cheek... Now slap... Slap.... TK

So what you are saying is that if someone goes up against your good friend Karen who by the way has been my friend for 30 yrs then it is a slap but when you start a new assoc and try to lure people away from AAA that is different. Seems like a two sided argument always in your favor, at least to your way of thinking. Tony has agreed to change the title next year but you wouldnt let it go at that.
