... But that would mean pulling in practice fair!!!
And how will anyone win the practice table or the high coveted cellar dweller championships if they are giving up all their god given practice table rights ??... That's madness !!
It seems simple, but getting guys to practice in a manner that is simulating to actual events and beneficial to both pullers is more taxing on my brain and time than the toddler/ baby years I have with my 3 small kids... Hence I train alone these days.
In practice people seem to want to gain their credentials and make a name did themselves by being king of the table... It's extremely ego fueled and to get a great workout you have to check the ego.
I often say I didn't work hard enough until I have lost to every guy in the room... Many on the other hand stand on the sidelines or quit practicing once they feel weakened or vulnerable... Which is hilarious because there is no losing dummies... It's training... It means ZERO!!!
I can't tell you how many guys I pulled in practice that fought for a grip with me like it was the final for the Volvo white semi !!... No bullsh!t... I don't get it, then again I don't see any of em ripping up the actual tournament scene... Odd huh?
As far as the question at hand... I say get a grip, gripping should be 5-10 seconds... Easy peezy
Straps do tell lies and I had MANY a real bad refs grip... Most recently in Canada where I got RAPED.... I still sit in the shower coiled up wondering what went wrong... Maybe I shoulda taken the bus home...
Needless to say nothing is a fail safe or fool proof
