I'm the biggest novice hater in the world, but....anybody remember one "powerhouse parker"? AAA Nat'ls in Fla 08, I think. He hadn't been pulling very long and he steamed rolled through the heavyweight novice class. Screaming like a tard on the table and talking $hit to Armtv the whole time. So, after getting all the Armtv love, he decided to man up and jump in the opens and then his first Open's match went....snap crackle POP!
I still think that woulda happened sooner or later anyway. Beasting out more novices for a year or so would've only prolonged the inevitable. I have started to believe that if a person has weak bones or joints, it's gonna rear it's head (as soon as they hit that immoveable wall) no matter how many baby steps they take.
Oh and that would be 98 opens R & L for me. Even though I never took 1st in a novice class....

We are totally not "genetic freaks". But, we do like the idea of being able to drink beer and get stronger at the same time. So, it has all kinda worked out.

I will be there pulling right and left...probably 87s since this will not require any cutting. It is unwise to drop to 76 when I would have to pull left handed a few hours later the same day.

I pulled my first tournament (novice) at Alabama state in 2011 won first in 76's and that was the last time I pulled novice!!! if your going to be good and learn pull open and train hard!!! I totally agree they are novice pullers that should not be pulling novice!! what do you learn by beating somebody that has never pulled before anyway?

Giles,
I'm alive and well. Why is it you want to belittle and call me names ect. Yes I was a novice .. 3 mos training, yes I did ok in the novice heavyweight class. Yes, I wanted to test the open class, yes my right tendon snapped during my 2nd match against Ryan C.
I dont agree with if I stayed in the novice for another year it wouldnt have helped. I believe it probably would have,
A. I would have learned how to pull more safely technique wise B. I wouldnt Learned when not to go all out and stress the weaker portions of my body concerning this sport - ie. tendons. c. over time hopefully my tendons might become more durable via intelligent stress/micro tears.
My bones and joints seem to be fairly durable - believe me they have been tested, a lot more then most.
The part where I screaming like a tard .. ur words ... well, sorry that bugged you. It's how I express myself and get into my zone .. not your zone .. but mine. You please feel free to express yourself your way.
And if you would like to call me names in person I very much invite you to do so. I assure you my response will not be like it is here (internet bs).
You dont have to like me, agree with me & understand me.
However disrespect me (the rightness party) and you will have a very memorable experience with me.
