Lots of good battles in this video. IMO the consumer gets to watch more battles with novice tournament (the value of entertainment is less to us, but more to the consumer if the action keeps going quickly like it does with novice) and with us keeping the shoulders square and informing them of the arm break position it usually goes pretty smooth.
Especially the American consumer, we want our action fast like our food. That is what we buy. Not that its good, it is what it is. Nobody is happy when they are watching any referee in any sport, Im thinking get the hell off the screen and everyone else is huffing and puffing. Then we got arm wrestling that has referee fouling almost every play.
IMO the american sports consumer wants to forget about the referee (relaxing enjoying the action like its them dominating). And then the referee comes out of nowhere like an a-hole you love to hate.
Maybe totally blacked out stage (light just on the pullers) with referee backing up into the dark would be better for the American consumer. but again the novice will get at the action every time with little refereeing.
That is what i was thinking when David owens first started talking about novice and that is what i continue to see.
Anyway, good Job TAA!
