Just published on Armwrestlers Only is a list I've assembled of pullers who, in my informed opinion based on an analysis of event results, would likely have been recognized as the best right-handed armwrestler on the planet had world rankings existed since the early days of the sport. armwrestlersonly.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/chronology-of-best-armwrestlers-on.htmlIf you disagree with any of the judgments, I'd be interested in hearing why and I can then provide a rationale for my decisions. Modifications may then be made, should they be warranted.

Travis won the WAF over Alexey in Ottawa in 2003 and was pretty dominant there for a while rightys if I remember correctly. I believe he was beating John ,Richard and Dave Randall around that time also. Just Sayin..
Awesome write up and History lesson Eric.
Thanks

An argument can be made that Travis did have the best right arm around 2005, but according to the event results I've found, he never beat John Brzenk at a time when John had the #1 ranking. I believe most of Travis' legitimate wins on John occurred in 2005, when John was closer to 200 lbs.
In 2002/2003, many people believed Alexey was the best on the planet -- he had been beating everyone in Europe. But he had not yet proven he was the very best by facing the top-ranked guy (John Brzenk). So even though Travis beat Alexey at the Worlds in 2003, I wouldn't have felt justified in giving him the top spot.

Your research ability and knowledge base are astounding.
Hopefully every new puller reads your articles to get a better understanding of the history of the sport. Its always fun to learn about the early giants of armwrestling.
