They shoulda just left the money a mystery... Like an undisclosed wager between teams. The public could assume cross country travel... Hotels... Time ... Food...maybe a couple Gs a head... Who knows. For all they know it could be for tax returns or 5 figures... Wouldn't matter. It's like guilt, unless there is proof it's speculation, so why nail it down ? Everyone seems to love it, but nobody can wrap their head around the money... I have to remind them of the "underground"... "Regular folk" vibe GOA is portraying and it's all smoke. They coulda done 10k and it'd been totally believable Exactly

Yeah because anybody that knows Travis knows that fker ain't showing up for less than a grand himself. I don't think it'll last but a season or two. The ultimate fighter was a hit because it had drinking, fighting and guys battling it out for a six figure contract. These guys are crying and crap over 200 bucks... "There's no crying in baseball". Nobody ever said ANYTHING about not crying in arm wrestling Mr.! Hahaaaa!! Damnit, I didn't get the memo. Instead of mfers hugging after every match I want to see the loser start crying and the winner rub his back and tell him everythings gonna be alright.

thank you Joe, and Rob who has made several positive posts about the show. They told us not to read the internet, that no matter the show the negative and even horrible comments always come out, which is our countries new past time taking pleasure in hating someone, and watching TV to feel superior to someone.
What I didnt expect was how many pullers would be so negative and even mean. If I ran a bail bond service maybe I would hate "dog the bounty hunter". If I sold real estate maybe I would hate "millionaire listing"....but I would know it was a show, and if I knew the people on it I would be happy for them, and if it potentially impacted me down the road that would be even better. I wish as many of the good people wrote as the bad. Maybe people are right who say our sport is too full of ego to ever help itself succeed. I keep thinking positive but you negative folks caught me by surprise.
no matter how you look at it we need fans to follow this. this show, your next tournament, the UAL, WAL, AAA, everything. If any significant money or incentive is to happen it is going to take money and attention from outside. So the snide remark or post made today may be the 100 bucks your team-mate doesnt make in a few years. I guess I was naive thinking people would be happy about this even if they just thought it would benefit them....but I keep thinking the good guys will speak up in the end and my friends all over will gain something out of it.

Wags, nobody knew what to expect from the show and admittedly I was leary when the first episode aired. The show has turned out to be fantastic from my point of view. Each episode has gotten better and better. I wish the first episode had been stronger since most of the negative reaction that I've heard was all from that one show. I wish to God the Rob vs. Chop episode had been first.
But I do think you might be taking all this a little too hard. I know it's deeply personal for you and if it was me on the show I'd be hypersensitive to any negative feedback, too. But coming from armwrestlers, for whom talking huge piles of smack is ingrained in DNA, the negative really hasn't been all that negative.
Nothing can be 100% positive, and putting something out in the public eye makes you feel like a bug under some giant prick of a kid's magnifying glass.
Look at Swamp People and Duck Dynasty. Both are cult favorites in spite of negativity. Lady Gaga, Pro Wrestling, and Kanye West certainly haven't suffered from negativity.
If Season 2 never happens then you guys have still done what nobody else in the sport has ever done- put armwrestling into living rooms on a weekly show. That is beyond belief.

Jim, I'm very happy for you guys... And admittedly one of the infected jealous ones, but no hate.... You guys are representing well and it's a pleasure tuning in weekly as I've partied with all of you and consider most friends long before pipe dreams of tv came to light. Again, congrats, I'm happy for you and all involved

Hey Jim we are just joking around nit picking a bit but I haven't heard any AWers seriously bad mouthing the show. I personally like it and so does my team, I was just stating, like Tommy, that in real life you guys would never travel in a team of 4-5 only for the possibility of making $250. Like Rob said ten grand is more like it, do you know why they decided to go with so little cash for the matches?

I watched the sh#t outta swamp people for the first season. That was about it, I mean how many times can you watch someone shoot a gator on a hook before it gets old? Probably never to the guys on the show or other gator hunters because that's what they do. Just like GOA, I'll watch it as long as its on tv because I'm an armwrestler. The average person isn't gonna stay interested watching guys armwrestle for two hundred dollars and when the public finds out we actually do the sh#t for a trophy and armwrestle in hotel ball rooms were you can here a pin drop I think they'll lose interest because they'll know the show is scripted. I'm not hatin' , I'm happy for you guys I'm just giving my opinion on what I think the non-armwrestling public will think when the newness wears off.

Oh yeah and let me redo my math. 500 of the money is there own money so that makes 500 split five ways.

I definitely can give a positive review.
Personally I like Kenny Hughes story and the first episode the best. I didn't care for the wrestling match but the story telling was great. I think Kenny's story will be a big part of upcoming episodes as he is now 0-2. I love watching Chop and Turbo, Chop has a great story Turbo Is Hilarious. The refs sucks...I've had refs as bad or worse. Same with the venues. All the people I know who watched the first show who were not arm wrestlers still watch the show. Everyone has seen a spike inexposure. Yes it's not exactly what we do but it's not too far off....just a little fluffed up for excitement, definitely my favorite show on tv.

Ya, you are right Joe. I'll head over and rate it. I do cringe though every time they slap a measly grand down. For fux sake, if anything is fake it's that these boys aint traveling in teams to pull for $250 each. I love GOA and this ^ version of the F-word:)
