Does anybody know if the tournament at the Oklahoma City State Fair in September is right and left? Thanks for reply.

im pretty sure the state fair is right handed. Also they do this stupid "ready go, go!" thing and im pretty sure on the first go you can position your hand and wrist however you want then the second go is when you try and pin. And another thing is if you slip he puts you in the hook..no straps.

Well that's settled. If those are the rules I'm not going.

For all of the new pullers this rule has been around before most of you were born. The reason for this rule is to let you load up before the start and stop all the flash starts.

JMO but the sport has evolved, lets not keep digging into the past for garbage rules that will only set us back further.
Many of us need to learn how to play the game with the rules in place today, we need to, practice withing the rules and we need to pull within the rules. Not the old rules, just the current ones.
Having said that we ALL get to choose when and where we compete. Choose wisely.

David a lot of people like that rule if you were just fast then you would not like it Steve has had that rule for more than 40 years and he still has it today. Jason he has had left but not every time.

David also I have pulled over 40 years and seen many different tables, and ways to pull, but I have never back down from a tournament of any kind or person. I guess you must pull wisely Maybe that's what I've been doing wrong all these years. I see these guys that can only pull one guy and no one else that day.

"He was fast" is just an excuse. Most people who are perceived as "fast" are usually just stronger than their opponant or know how to apply the force in the right direction and win the battle where they are stronger, never getting into the opponents power.
Example Corey Miller, Luke Kindt, and Don Underwood, put them against someone stronger they dont look near as fast.
Again because something was done for 40 years doesnt mean its the right thing to do. I would ask who is pulling in this type of event over those 40 years? novice? Amateurs? Pros? I have seen this type of event at a fair in tennessee and couldnt name one person who pulled in it, I Know 99% of the average level guys and 100% of the top level so thats saying something. This IMO is counterproductive, we are now being put in front of a national audience we need to get on the same page as a sport.
Again JMO

David do you know Johnny Walker, Cleve Dean, Al Tunner, and many more I think they were some of the best of all time. Steve Simons at this time put on all the first class tournaments, and still putting on tournaments today just not on the same level.
