Today, while going through armwrestling pictures I started looking at armwrestling tables and I was wondering why they don't make them a bit fancier or why they don't change at all with time. Why is it that they don't have them at tournaments like in the image below. I'm guessing it comes down to a cost issue, as I can see the one below costing alot more money to build. Any other comments/theories?

Fancy does play into the cost. Dwayne Hannels tables cost several thousand dollars. Every tournament that you do takes life out of a table. Our tables are not "pretty" but all of the parts from the top to each pad is replaceable at a reasonable price. As for advancement it is interesting that you should say that since the table pictured is an antique. Nothing about it meets the regulations. ;D
