I usually don't respond to these types of things but this one sparked my interest. I went back and watched the tape looking for a long hook war but I just didn't find one. I've been in many hook wars over the years but I don't think that one even registers as such. Rob had said my hand was off the peg for 10 seconds but the whole match was only like 9 seconds...so that means my hand was never on the peg, right? Man, if anything, I'm wondering how much stronger I would have been if I'd left my hand on the peg and actually had something to pull against. But anyway...I've already spent the money and enjoyed doing it. Until the next "war"?!? Merry Christmas Chad

Id say Lets have a super match at Can Ams in March. I do think with todays Pros and supermatches i always felt athletes should be tested because your never 100% sure.
So if Both agree Chad vs. Vigeant JR World championship style A Wada test for both Winner gets $1000 sponsered money after test results Best out of 7 Are you In ?

Rob I think you and Chad should pull at Get-A-Grip that can be this years big supermatch. Are you really gonna come to Get-A-Grip?

Rob,
YES, it was a missed call. Did the extra 2 inches allow Chad to dip alittle lower...YES
BUT would the outcome of been different....We will never know.
I remember along time ago I felt the same about some ref's calls, and since we are supposed to use names...Steve Stanaway...He has blown many calls. So I thought if I got so strong that I could beat everyone easy. It would take the ref right out of the match.
Words to live by....NEVER LEAVE THE CALL UP TO THE REF.......

Bill is a very good referee and i am sure that he missed that moment. but sometimes refs' mistake can cause more serious problems that you may not have chance to get stronger to beat everyone easy anymore.it was 2001 WAF 70 kg final and Steve was the side ref when i broke a piece of bone from my outer elbow that caused me to not to push my limits ever again.we had 3 matches (with re-matches) with 7-8 starts that took about 45 minutes with all protests and arguments.in the most of the starts his shoulder was ok as it is on this clip ; www38.websamba.com/demirbilek/vdeo36.htm but in the match that is one before the last one,his shoulder was about 10-15cm below from the table and Steve let him pull that way when he should have given him the second foul.the match took about a minute and my elbow has never been the same since then (i had two hours long elbow surgery after that match).i do not know if there is a clip of that part of this final or not but the guy was also very strong as much as his weird look.also see his match against Rustam Babayev; www.worldofarmwrestling.com/en/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=343 www.worldofarmwrestling.com/en/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=345 my prime was in 2001 but since that year i have been suffering from my elbow because of a serious mistake ,i do not know if i should call it as mistake since Steve told me that i should have broken the Russian's elbow to bring his hand to the pin pad after i asked him ,"how was i supposed to beat him when his shoulder 10-15 cm below the table?".i brought this subject here so many times but i must say that armwrestling has been more than half of my life and i just can not forgive-forget what happenned on that day.

Hey Bob, I think there are alot of us out there that got bad calls from Steve Stanaway. My most memorable one was in 2001 in Atlanta Nationals. Allen Fisher & I were pulling, & he hit hard & fast, but I stopped him more than 2 inches above the pin pad. There was nothing but daylight under my hand, & even though the tapes were horrible, it is still very visible. Allen got called for the win! That was a great year for me, beating Chad Efird & Greg Helm on the same day to finish 4th. Jason Vale won, Bill Bellinger 2nd & Allen Fisher 3rd. So yes it does happen.
