You will be missed. Terribly. At least by me anyway.
I am praying for a wonderful experience, a safe trip, and a rewarding new career. I love you.

Tomorrow morning im leaving for Dalllas to start driving cross-country. People padden your cars, Ryan is on the road!!! Its very hard leaving my family. And its very hard knowing that i wont be able to see my fiance for atleast 6 weeks. Tell me about it! It is indeed hard to leave your family for any extended period of time. But the odd thing is......its going to be quite difficult not having the everyday liberty of checking this board.....lol Thats sick. If you have a laptop and can find a "hotspot" you'll be able to access the internet. Good luck finding one while in a big truck. your prayers wouldd bee greatly appreciaated as i make this change in my life. I will pray that you only hit the "e", "a", "d" keys once when creating words. Good luck and be careless, Ryan. Stay away from the northwest!

Ryan- here in Erie they have special Truck Stops, this big thing plugs into your window, heats/cools your truck, gives you phone and internet as well, saving the guys money over leaving the truck running. Take your lap-top, you will find more places like this! good luck to you sir!

Allen - Ryan just may be in your neck of the woods at some point. Just be on guard at all times. He may even take a trip to Canada. I'm sure he'll freak out if he has to drive in snow and through the mountains. He is really nervous, but I'm sure he'll do great. He just called and made it to Dallas. Had a 9 hour bus ride with a screaming kid onboard. He has never been happier to be on land I'm sure.

If he runs through Colorado, he should get a hold of Brandy and Russ Stark and we could probably set up a practice or something (there's one this sat. if he's in the area).
Travel safe!!

Allen quoted. Good luck and be careless, Ryan. Stay away from the northwest! Now I know your true feelings Allen! This country separates the men from the boy's!!!!! I said that to Ryan for the sake of his safety...so THERE! For Ryan to start cross-country driving in big rigs should not start on packed snow and ice. I have seen how he drives!!!!!! ♥ BTW, Trent, what are my true feelings?

I'm thinking they won't start him out driving in those types of conditions. They will probably run around the south/southeast area for awhile. If not, I'll post a warning on the board for those of you who may be in a danger zone.

Well, I was wrong. Instead of putting Ryan in the southeast where the weather is quite pleasant, he'll be heading out West. He leaves in the morning and will be traveling through Texas, Arizona, California, Utah, Colorado, etc. I sure hope the snow is minimal for the next 6 weeks... I think he would freak out at the sight. Us Louisiana-natives see maybe 1 mm of snow in our lifetimes.

Well, the Texas, Arizona and California route won't be bad, but I think their decision to send him into Colorado or Utah was not very smart... no offense to his driving skills, but I don't even like driving in the snow, ground blizzards, blinding driven snow or anything of the sorts...and I live in snow country... he's going to need a lot of "luck"...

I, too, think it is wrong to send someone who is not versed on a lot of different type driving conditions into areas like Colorado and Utah (mountainous). When in Wyoming I had someone who offered assistance to driving in winter conditions (Trent and Jody).
Hopefully they have someone with him who will have knowledge and experience driving on winter roads...especially in bigger vehicles.
Tell him, Brittany, we all are thinking of him and to be careful when driving empty; the winds will blow his trailer right over.

He is with an excellent trainer who has been driving for a very long time. His trainer told him if he feels the slightest bit of discomfort while driving for him to pull over and the trainer would take his place. I'm glad he is being trained in these conditions though because I would hate for him to have to figure everything out by himself. I just hope his trainer likes to talk about armwrestling and Jesus.
