Like I stated the negative portion of the post was done before I realized u deleted that post, therefore i was unaware and have since removed it out of respect for you, we will no longer joke and yes i see everything threw a clear perspective now and I agree we do not need to get involved into another heated disagreement....

I'm still shocked by how sensitive people are. Thousands of people are dying in Iraq and Darfur but the REAL problem is the abuse of emoticons!!!

No, the real problem is people's lack of respect for other people. I guess some people may have plenty of time to surf the internet all day but for me personally, I am limited on my time so I don't want to waste it on two guys blowing kisses and winking at each other. It's no different from asking everyone to keep all the off topic stuff on the off topic board. If it's armwrestling, yes I want to hear about it, but if it's about a furry velvet ant or somebody's brother who is on drugs and slapping women then I DON"T THINK IT SHOULD BE ON THE ARMWRESTLING BOARD !! Try to show some respect and you may actually go somewhere in this sport.

Heh, it's funny you mention my signature. I've been meaning to change it for a long time now and it keeps slipping my mind. It was an inside joke at one time.
Sorry it offended you.
My problem with this thread is that it took on an attacking tone right from the beginning. It wasn't a respectful request that off-topic threads be kept elsewhere. To me, the tone of this thread is just as disrespectful as any emoticon-laden threads that may have wasted your time. Incredibly, the second a few people attempted to lighten the thread up a bit the discussion again turned confrontational.
Perhaps we could all use a lesson in respect.

Now Rick, I would have to agree with you, but to an extent. A lot of people post things on this main board that are not armwrestling related. We can not just point the fingers at a select few that like to blow kisses and slap their mom. We have to point the finger at everyone that post things on this board that pertain to AN ARMWRESTLER and what goes on in his life. You may not want to hear about someone slapping their momma and others may not want to hear about someone's kids, or someone's surgery's, or someone's blatant disregard for ethnicity, but you, yourself, will have to weed out the threads that you read and choose the ones that interest you.
Just a little advice from someone that lives on the board.

Pete,
I may sound like Simon Cowell here but I find it odd that I actually am starting to agree with a lot of what you say. You said, " but you, yourself, will have to weed out the threads that you read and choose the ones that interest you." You are right but you simply cannot do that. If a thread is about "Great practice last night" I know that it is not to me because we didn't practice last night so I don't read it. No problem. But if I'm reading a post about Matt Harris & Cobra Rhodes that I really want to know about I don't want to see:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the right context. I took a course in college on this. Emoticons 101. You shoulda seen my teacher . She was smokin' hot . Everytime I went to class I had a smile on my face ...until she flunked me . So I had to find a new career path . Because clearly emoticonism was not my calling. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The emoticon wasn't covered in Emoticons 101. That was a more advanced emoticon which does not get covered until Emoticons 150 - Advanced Emoticonism. I didn't take this course, as I changed my major from Emoticonology to Message Board Moderatorology (also known as a B.S. in MBM) after my freshman year. But I have a friend who is an Emoticonologist at a local rehabilitation center and he says that the has multiple meanings, including sadness, discouraged state of being, undecided state of being, confusion, constipation, and frustration. That's not counting all of page 8 and some of page 7 that are talking about stuff that has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH ARMWRESTLING AT ALL. It's cool if you put a smiley with something that goes along with armwrestling but why should I have to pick through 14 posts with nothing but stupid smiley's and stuff so people can run their "NUMBERS UP" so they can have more posts? Not to mention 1 whole page about stuff that has nothing to do with Matt Harris or Cobra. All of the stuff I copied and pasted came from that one topic. 14 stupid posts about nothing. I didn't even count any that were borderline. Just the ones that were absolutely useless. I'm sure this is making someone mad but deep inside you know I'm right on this one. You guys are taking the fun out of it. It's almost like work to get on this board. Talk to you soon.

To answer your question, I remember the saying going something like this "Don't point your finger, because there are 3 pointing back at you." I couldn't figure out if you might have lost a few or might have been born with extras!!! oops!!

Well rick if your pointing a finger at me let me tell you about iraq because I was there seen alot. and as far as going some where in this sport pal. I was in this sport before you. Won lots of state championships. But in 1994 I fell 70 feet on concrete had bloodclots taking off my brain, colapsed lungs, broken ribs, right eye poped out of my head, three degree tear of the clavicle, which half of its gone, and mucsle damage. Came back 13 years later with 3 months training and placed in the nationals. broke my arm there and training once again. locked and loaded. Dont tell me about your petty problems. unless you wont a pitty party. PS and for the nerve of some people pointing out silly faces on the board that has made so many mistakes in this sport I find It a JOKE.
