I think I hear a challange being thrown out Rick!!! I understand what you mean, Rick. I only have certain times where i can get on the net to read and keep up and to get on here and see all the smiles and kisses is somewhat annoying. I like throwing in a few or a few , but when that is the only thing posted then it is dumb. Why can't we all just get along!!!!! Christina

WOW Neil, I certainly hope you are kidding. You know I wasn't going to post anymore on this thread because the rudeness had simply overwhelmed it but I absolutely cannot sit silent any longer while a good friend of mine for many years is insulted.
In response to your earlier post saying you had been in the sport longer than Rick, you'd been to Iraq, you'd fallen in 1994 and injured yourself was sad, it wasn't, in my opinion, relevant to the issue. But, for the record - Rick Laton's been in the sport one heck of a long time, he hasn't been to Iraq (why that's important is beyond me) and possibly you're unaware that he had a serious accident in 1995 which lost him his father and put him in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. I don't think you'd find a better man, not only in this sport but as a human being that would deserve respect any more than Rick Laton does.
It seems you took great offense to Rick posting that he was tired of all the ridiculous smiley and winky faces that were being put up as posts on threads. It also seems there are more people than just Rick that got tired of it as well. The faces are fun Neil, but when that's all that is posted - no typed words at all - on a thread where they make no sense at all, it is annoying.
And the pat answer of "don't read it" doesn't work in this instance. When you are on the main page of the board, as you well know, it has new buttons beside a thread where there is a new post. If you have been reading that particular thread, or that thread looks interesting, or you're just plain curious of course you click on it to read it. Then, you find - for example - someone asking what time do weigh ins start at an event - and the "new" post is a winky face. What the heck was the point?
That's what Rick was referring to. The use of faces like that. So why is that so offensive to you for Rick or anyone else to say so?
And why attack Rick now? Over him saying he's 145 pounds and you're 185 so meet in the middle and bring your money? You threw the challenge out there Neil, or should I say you threw the insult, by stating that if you were Rick's weight you didn't believe you would have a problem at all with him. You got called on it.
You can stop all the insults, tension, ill feelings very easily Neil - just apologize. It takes a big person to admit wrong doing and apologize and you certainly owe Rick a huge apology.

I believe we all have the right to free speech. The administrator of the board sets the rules for this particular forum. To scroll past some emoticons takes less than 1/10th of a second. Do that or don't, I don't care.

Neil, I don't know Karens weight and would not dare ask. I bet you $100 that Karen would win a lefthanded match. I didn't bet more cause I like to keep it friendly. Waiting for your answer. This is not a insult to you, but you did challenge her and I'm willing to bet a little money on it. You and Karen set the time and place I'll send my $100 to kurt Howegate to hold

Todd, I think you're in Left field on this topic. I think Neil was talking about a post Rick made and not asking Karen how much she weights. I could be wrong? Hope not.
