Tom Nelson looked awesome this day. I've never seen him dominate people like he did. And Bob Shafer also made an awesome showing...he's the only one that gave Tom a good match. And You don't usually see people stop his shoulder press like that!!! I must say that I was very impressed with Tom. He thinks he can take Ron Bath too....I don't know about takin Ron, but it wouldn't be an easy match for Ron that's for sure. I'm not sure I like his attitude when psyching up...I understand it's just his way of getting himself worked up. But come down from it after the match...he seems to hold it for a lot longer than the match. But if it works...keep doing it right?

I just finally checked out this footage.
Wow! Talk about some intense matches!
Who was that guy pulling Tom Nelson, that was up in Tom's face and giving him #$*%? That was entertaining for sure.

Kurt that is Rick Vardell. He came back a couple of years ago after a long lay off from the sport. He pulls with the guys from central Cal. I believe him and Tom train together!!

I keep watching that match-up over and over again.
Call me the devil's advocate but that is the kind of intensity this sport needs!
We don't always want to see happy, holding-hands, best-friends-pulling-each-other type matches! The spectrum needs to swing both ways to include ripping-your-arm-off and shoving-it-up-your-ass type pulling.

I agree Kurt. I dont ever want to see it escalate to punches thrown, but this is a combat style sport, and aggression has its place. Again, no violence, but some heat is sweet:)

I thought that with all that fire that it could escalate but they kept their cool when it mattered...so afterwards watching the video. It really does feel like I am watching a movie. That scene could have been right out of Over the ToP.
