I try to eat healthy just like Bill Collins said... However, I have a problem, and it's that I'm hungry all the time. I usually just take breakfast at around 7am, lunch at maybe 1-1:30pm, and dinner at maybe 7-8pm ... and no inbetween foods. Even if I eat a lot at lunch, for example, I'm gonna be hungry at, say, 4pm, no matter what. And it sucks to be hungry and not eat. But hey, I still have some fat around me that I wanna get rid of.... it's so hard when you're not one of those lucky "hardgainers", and have a tendency to store fat, argh!^% I had heard of that idea of eating in less amounts but more times a day. I'm very interested now, sounds logical, I never read an actual explination for why it works (keeping the metabolism "ramped up" like Bill says), so now it makes more sense. I think I might give this idea a go. I do agree that "dieting" is useless as you can't diet forever. One has to learn how to eat, and eat properly for life..... with some cheat days of course, but not too often, and not too exaggerated either. Eat foods that are good for the body and eat through out the day, not big meals, small meals your body will adjust after about two weeks..it take about 5-6 weeks to see some changes, look at Micheal Todd that boy can eat and at 270 he still has ripps. Give it a far shake and it will motivate you to the next level we can all look like Jake the RIPPER if we train our mind and body... Take a look at Jay Culter eating program 60 freaking eggs a day, you may start clucking like a chickin but you won't be hungry.

How does someone lose that is already fairly lean to begin with? Is water the only way? I went from eating anything my heart desired(and a lot of it) to almost a vegitarian for 5 weeks and didn't lose a dang pound. The calorie deficit should have freed up something. Now I'm eating fairly heathly and lifting and now I'm slowing adding weight. Any help would be great.

Anthony,
If you are already lean and you still want to be in a lighter class. Than Water it is. Sweat it out.
Proper diet will help shed fat and build lean muscle. If however you have very little fat. I suggest you just work or getting stronger and pull what you weigh.

Now I'm eating fairly heathly and lifting and now I'm slowing adding weight. Any help would be great. It pretty much all comes down to the calorie deficit. This can be created by diet, exercise, or both. A basic formula you can do is multiply your weight by 15. Now subtract 500. This will be the approximate amount of calories you will need to eat to lose 1 pound per week (a 500 calorie deficit each day, 7 days per week, and 3500 calories is a pound). Then, lift and do cardio to create a further calorie deficit. This should allow you to lose about 2 pounds per week, which is what is recommended for healthy fat loss. As always, make sure you have plenty of water. EDIT: This is for fat loss. If you're like 178 with 5 percent body fat and want to pull 76s, then water is certainly your ticket.

I'm eating roughly that Eric(2200-2300 per day). Mostly protein ie. Meat, and shakes with lots of fruits, veggies, and water(9-13 glasses per day) Not sure on the body fat%? I have abs even if I quite doing situps for 6mths I think I'll just try the sauna out and see where that takes me. How much water can someone my weight (approx.) lose and gain back to be able to compete in a few hours?

cut out some fruits. they are basically sugar. not saying they are bad for you but for losing weight it's bad. don't cut them all out of your shakes as they do make them taste better, but cut out some of it. if possible try to get your protein from actual food instead of powders. the process of breaking down meat burns more calories.

Wouldn't fruit be a better choice for carbs than say other carb sources such as pasta, bread, ect. I've read to eat fruit before lifting because it is a steady supply of energy as opposed to gatorade ect. which is a boost in sugar and then drops off?

Anthony, by no means am I a ripped 195 but before nationals I lost 8 lbs, in about 5 days. All I did was eat salad and tuna fish (very little mayo) with crackers (about 7 or 8). I drank lots of water up until the day before and the last day no water at all. If you are real close the day before, I have taken water pills they work but make you a little "loopy."
I would be ripped but I like beer and I hate, hate, hate..... cardio!!
