Ryan since you absolutely cannot go without making a religious cogitation on any thread on this board (it is a little crazy but none the less endearing) I am going to try and give you a religious news story you can comment on every day. I owe you 4 for this week.

I am purposely being a bit vague because I do not want to offend anyone. A recently deceased man left his estate to Jesus Christ, the court ordered his holdings to be put into secured investments while the family contested the will. In the meantime two men have come forward claiming to be Jesus Christ and they are attempting to collect their inheritance.

A bar manager in Switzerland has announced plans to sell an oyster shell resembling the face of Jesus Christ, according to local media. Matteo Brandi, 38, may hope to repeat the success of a Florida woman who sold a piece of toast said to bear an image of the Virgin Mary for $28,000. The Italian said he had found the shell, whose contents have since been eaten, in a batch two years ago. The oyster stuck to his hand as if God was calling him, he said. Mr Brandi, who describes himself as a devout Catholic, told Switzerland's Le Matin newspaper he had kept the shell on top of the bar's stereo after he found it. He has now given it to a bank for safe keeping. He became aware of its potential value only after hearing of the Florida sale. "This piece is unique," he told the newspaper. "It is the work of nature. It is neither grilled nor cooked. I shall try my luck over the internet." Diane Duyser caused a stir last November when she put her unusual piece of cheese-on-toast on the eBay auction website. The toast, which Ms Duyser said had brought her great luck over 10 years, was sold to an internet casino within days.

images.ibsys.com/2005/0328/4322586_200X150.jpg[/img] Couple Sees Jesus Image In Door Door To Be On Display At Church CANTON, Ohio -- On Easter night, a Stark County, Ohio, family found religious encouragement from what would normally be a very ordinary object. Dennis and Deana Florea believe that the wood grain of an old door displays an image of Jesus. Dennis is a professional forensic investigator, and it has taken 30 years for him to speak out about what he sees when he looks at the piece of an old door. He noticed it first and hesitated showing it to his wife. Deana said she also thinks the image could also be the Virgin Mary because she sees eyelashes. The Floreas cut it from a door from their former home because they believe it is symbolic of the biblical passages calling Christ the way, the truth and the life. They said that everyone they've shown it to has seen one of two images. He said the reason he is bringing up the image now is because of the Dec. 26 tsunami and other world events that just made it seem like the right time to share the experience. Some have encouraged trying to sell it or even putting it on eBay, but Dennis says he will never do that. The Floreas plan to share the image with the rest of their church congregation. Photos will be displayed at the High Mill Church of the Resurrection in Plain Township, Ohio.

images.ibsys.com/2005/0315/4287705_200X150.jpg[/img] Couple Sells Candles That Smell Like Jesus Product Flying Off Shelves A South Dakota couple makes and markets candles they say smell like Jesus. fragrance imaginable, from blueberry to ocean mist to hot apple pie. Now there's a candle that lets you experience the scent of Jesus, and they've been selling out by the case. "We see it as a ministry, " says Bob Tosterud, who together with his wife came up with the idea for the candle. Light up the candle called "His Essence" and its makers say you'll experience the fragrance of Christ. Bob Tosterud and wife Karen say the formula is all spelled out in Psalm 45. "It's a Messianic Psalm referring to when Christ returns and his garments will have the scent of myrrh, aloe and cassia," says Karen Tosterud. Wondering what that must smell like, Karen Tosterud ordered those oils, a combination that produces sort of a flowery, cinnamon aroma. Then she called on a friend who just happened to be a candle-maker. "And in October, we got our first batch of 768 candles. We had no idea how it would go," Karen Tosterud says. But once word got out they went through 10,000 candles. "It's the only one on the market and everyone tells us it's very unique and nothing like it," says Karen Tosterud. "We wanted people to be able to experience Christ in new ways and to be able to read a bible and have that scent and that candle as a reminder that he is with us all the time." "You can't see him and you can't touch him," says Bob Tosterud. "This is a situation where you may be able to sense him by smelling. And it provides a really new dimension to one's experience with Jesus." The candles never stay on the shelves for long. The Tosteruds say each one that goes out is like a ministry in itself. The candles sell for about $18. They are sold in about 150 stores around the country. Or you can order them online at www.hisessence.com. You can also call this phone number: 877-psalm-45.

yea yea yea i know.....thats all i said tho. wasnt preaching or anything just backed up Chris's comment. Ya know that oyster is really ugly. And how do they know the door looks like Jesus. It could look like my grandpa for all they know. Noone has an original picture to base that on. correct? So what is it that causes these phenominons(sp)? My belief is that they are demonic manifestations, notice how people who are desperatly searching for signs and wonders flock to it. I saw on video of a statue of a cow producing milk in india. I saw that on video. It was an unaltered statue. people were flocking to it to worship it. I believe beyond a shadow of a doubt people saw the virgin mary in , is it guatalope(sp)? People flock to this sight to worship mary. They have pictures of children going into deep trances. This is unbiblical and ungodly. NECROMANCY Anything that Satan can do to get your eyes off of Jesus Christ and him Crucified. He will do it. The bible calls him the god of this world he certainly has the power to manifest the preconcieved images in your head. the door. looks like the average image, but there is no evidence that jesus had long hair. but who knows.

As I recall there is a passage in the bible that states something to the effect that when Jesus returns what his robes will smell of, x x and x, etc, so I think they are basing the scent of candles on that. Exactly, people will believe anything…… 'Dress-Up Jesus' Creator Reacts To NBC 10 StoryGame Sold At Urban Outfitters Stores KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. -- The creator of the controversial “Jesus Dress-Up” refrigerator magnets being sold at Philadelphia-area stores spoke exclusively to NBC 10 on Tuesday night. The man, who goes by the name, “Normal” Bob Smith, says he is doing nothing wrong. “Jesus Dress-Up” is a magnetic crucifix with a variety of clothes and accessories. Many people are outraged by the product, but Smith says he doesn’t see anything wrong with it. “I don't think there's anything wrong with religious satire,” said Smith. “People have got to learn to laugh at themselves, it's part of human nature.” Smith, who claims to be an atheist, says he's making money the same way Mel Gibson is with the "The Passion of the Christ." Smith has sold more than 5,000 of the magnets over the last 4 years. In the original NBC 10 report that aired Friday night, some people said they were outraged over a sacred symbol that is being sold for laughs. "I did a double take. It just seemed unbelievable to see something like that," said Gerry, a viewer who didn't want NBC 10 to use his last name. From a distance, the item looks like a kid's dress-up game. But when you look closely, it is a magnetic Jesus dress-up figure. "I basically stood there speechless," Gerry said. Gerry stumbled upon the dress-up Jesus at an Urban Outfitters store at the King Of Prussia Mall. He said he was shocked by the magnetic game showing Jesus on the cross, clad in underwear with interchangeable outfits like a devil costume, a skull T-shirt and a hula skirt. "Is it because it's Jesus Christ, that it's OK to bash on Jesus? Is that more fashionable than some other religious figure from history?" Gerry asked. Gerry e-mailed Urban Outfitters to complain that the item was in horrible taste. NBC 10 tried contacting Urban Outfitters, but the company said there was nobody who could comment. However, in an e-mail response to Gerry, the company said it doesn't sell the dress-up Jesus to provoke or offend people, but it sells it to reflect a diversity of opinion among its customer base. images.ibsys.com/2004/0317/2928608_120X90.jpg[/img]

thats sick Simon its one thing to believe anything people throw at you and its another to search out the truth and study something for real.

You are right Ryan they are two entirely different things, but searching out the truth requires one to explore all possible options not simply those that are pleasing to you or easy to obtain.
“Once you accept anything purely on faith, you have admitted that it is not capable of factually standing on its own.”
