I took my wife to see Tom at the movies last night. Had us jumping in the seats from the lightning blasts! Anyone else see this movie? The acting wasn't very good, but again my wife didn't care as long as she can look at Tom!

I wanted to shove a boot down that little girls throat from screaming so much!! I understand that is her trademark, but ENOUGH is enough! I was getting mad at her for it. Stupid I know. As far as the rest of it, it was good. I am glad this is one movie they didn't have Tom Cruise figuring out a way to fix the present problem.

We had a lightning storm here in chapel hill very similar to that in war of the worlds. of course, i was hiding under the bed the whole time.

Allen,
I agree!
In fact that was one of the first comments I made to my wife as we talked about the movie on the drive home. The screaming seemed to be all the same, at a 10+ level, no variation based on the amount of fear she was suppose to feel at that time. It was all to the max and it got old very quick.

from a non-religious perspective
I thought the movie was very intense. some parts of it anyway. I could feel my heart pounded. Emotions were strong. I even felt fear in wondering what would happen if our world or america experience some type of crisis to cause men and women to act the way they did.
I thought the spraying blood part was a bit much. but i guess it helped th intesity.
the beginning of the movie i thought i was in the wrong theatre. it didnt look anything like a speilberg/cruise movie.
the ending really sucked
it ultimatly had no point to the story.
overall i wasnt very impressed.
even the machines couldve been better thought up as far as design.
just my take Ryan

well i liked the film in parts thght tht it wer bit crap how they kept goin into all the houses n stuff, the lil gal was a good actor but screamed too too much and then the endin let it down quite abit i think they shoved too much into the film and didnt have enough time 4 the end.
