I just wonder what sport people that become armwrestlers have done before.
Me myself have played basket-ball, indoor bandy, but also "Brazilian jiu jitzu", "Krav maga" and "Escrima" all of them are martial arts!

Rugby was my maine love i did it for 10 years from being 7 years old then 1 day a man drunk in his car took it away, that summer i was due to train with 1 of the top rugby teams in england,i tried to get back after the months of rehab but never got back the edge that makes you a cut above the rest. but ive probally done a 100 sports but armwrestling just cant be beaten.

Football was my true love, but fighting was probably my best sport, tough to be a part time fighter though, you have to live that life.
I am sorry to hear that Paul, I was hit from behind in a car accident which cost me senior year of college ball labeling me as a player that should not play the game again. But I did anyway, and I went on to play 4 seasons of semi pro ball, I sometimes wonder what I could have done in the sport if I had not gotten injured, but on the other hand I probably would not have found my current wife and I would not have my two girls, so no regrets here, I would not change a thing.
Clearly all and all armwrestling is the best sport I have ever been associated with.

I started Judo at 5yrs old when my dad pushed me to stand up for myself against my brother. Wrestling came in at 7 and about a year after at 8 a sambo instructor came over from Russia and started teaching classes at my Judokan school. I recieved a black belt in Judo and a red belt in Sambo by the time I was 14. I wrestled in school and won everything there was to win, and continued to win in freestyle. At 15 I started training in BJJ as well in Small Circle JJ. I am now a brown belt. I love the sport very much, and still role when my achelies let me. I have trained under Glen Barber, Bryan Johnson, J J Machado , Omilion Brothers and have roled about every school from Vancouver B.C. to Texas, and Hawaii. I look foward to rolling more now that John Stanton is living here.
All sports are cool, but any form of wrestling is always going to excite me. Powerlifting is another big one in my heart, but my heel will never let me compete again.

Great topic! It always interests me to see people's roots. Football Track and Field-----Shot Discus and the Hammer JC All American. Competed in a decathlon as a sophomore in HS. actually pole vaulted 13 ft at 220 lbs.
Those are the sports that I took serious and train for. All the others were pure recreation.
Steve let me guess............... 1500 meters
