Hey Guys,
My area is under alot of stress from the evacuees. Our area is alot smaller than baton rouge and everyone is coming here on their way and we cant handle it.
Our local churches and schools are being utilized as make-shift shelters and are becoming full rather quickly. The people going into these shelters don't have anything but the clothes on their backs. My girlfriend is volunteering at the Women's Hope Center and they are currently assisting these shelters in any way possible. Right now there is a desparate need for:
Formula (all types)
Baby Food
Toddler Food/Snacks
Diapers/Pull Ups
Wipes (all sizes, including travel)
Juice (not frozen)
Maternity Clothes
Infant/Toddler/Children Clothing
Infant/Toddler/Children Shoes
Pediasure
Ensure
Depends
Pedialyte
New Baby Bottles (all sizes, no drop-ins)
New Underwear (Women/Men/Children)
New Socks (Women/Men/Children)
Sheets/Blankets/Comforters
New Pillows in Wrapping
Towels/Wash Cloths
Coloring Books
Washable Crayons
Q-Tips
Bottled Water
Infants/Children’s Tylenol
Tylenol/Advil
New Baby Items (pacifiers, Velcro bibs, baby bath items, rattles, anything a baby can use)
Hygiene Items (soap, shampoo, conditioner, razors, shaving cream, toothbrushes, toothpaste, body/hand lotion, mouthwash, feminine products, deodorant, dental floss, new hair brushes, hairspray, pony tail holders, body spray)
Donations can be brought or shipped to:
222 Veteran’s Blvd., Suite C Denham Springs, LA 70726
Please call for drop off times 225.665.0214
Monetary donations can be made payable to Women's Hope Center and mailed to:
Women’s Hope Center
P.O. Box 1240
Walker, LA 70785
or

Thank you for your support, generosity, and prayers as we are trying to deal with the effects of this catastrophe. Anything you can do to help is greatly appreciated. May the Lord bless you.
Ryan
P.S. Our area is extremely short-staffed in the medical field. Local shelters are in need of registered nurses and medical personnel with credentials to help assist those in need. Currently, the Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge is short-handed in the labor and delivery unit as we are not only assisting the people in our area, but newborn babies are being sent by way of helicopter from New Orleans and surrounding areas to be cared for. The Infant ICU is presently overloaded as 40 newborns were placed for care this afternoon alone. We need your help! If you are able, please contact the Red Cross, the Women's Hope Center, or other respectable charitable organizations and see how you can help. Thank you so much!
