Austin,
I think there will be a re-match next year....i'm sure they'll both be back...we'll whip that ass again....lmao
you have to admit...we sacked ya'll more than once....i slightly remember Casey Hampton sling Hassell around like a rag-doll.....then Townsend came in on a blitz....on one drive...
pay-yow...
neither team looked good in the first half....it looked like Seattle had Carolinas playbook fro the 1st quarter with their little smoke play....-1 yds turns to 5 yds to Jackson.
the pass inter fer call was a good call.....whats bad about it is when its enforced....they do that stuff the whole game...no calls....just so happens this time in the end zone in front of the ref...
be honest Austin,
if that were Hines Ward pushing off on Dyson in the end zone...you would have been THAT WAS OFF PASS INTERFERENCE..and you know it....
Steelers did B-itch about bad calls...problem is this...we still kicked the Colts ass...we were the better team...bad calls and all my friend...
maybe ya'll will get a good receiver or Tight end in the draft...lord knows with all the drop passes...youneed it....lol
take care,
TK
ALL TOGETHER NOW:
HERE WE GO STEELERS HERE WE GO
;D

Thats the thing I would be honest about it. Every defensive back asked about it said it was a weak call. If it was reversed you would be bitching about it, be a man and admit it bro. pay-yow or whatever you said
you got 3 sacks and 1 was a fluke junk sack. hardly "blitzburg" if you ask me.
I would say rematch but with a 29 passer rating I doubt you will get back. We will see a different afc team playing the seahawks next year. . .

I usually do not get involved in these conversations, but I just have to give my opinion.
First. I am a huge Steelers fan. I have been since 1979. Back in Super Bowl XXX the Steelers won the T.O.P and yardage battle and ran more plays. The Steelers lost the Super Bowl by 10 points. This year the Seahawks ran 21 more plays (77-56) as per NFL.com. They had the ball for over 6:00 more then the Steelers and won the turnover battle. The Seahawks lost.
You can blame the refs for a few bad calls. I am not sure about Ben's touchdown. I do think that the pass interference call was "ticky-tacky", and I think that the 15 yard penalty on Matt was bad. But if I was a Seattle fan I would be more upset with the execution of their team. As a Steelers fan I am upset with the refs calls, the fact that that Palmer went out early, and that Vander whatever missed the field goal. I have to hear from people that if any of things went the other way then the Steelers may have lost.
The Steelers won the Super Bowl. I feel that they have the team to be back. Seattle has had one of the best running backs over the last 5 years and have to worry about him even coming back. The clock management and the play calling by the Seahawks was horrible. I am not sure, but I think they only made it past the Steelers 30 yard line a few times. Both teams played way below their potential. The Steelers just won. If blaming the refs makes it easier to accept, then please keep doing that. I know from experience that no matter what stats you look at, which I did many times back at Super Bowl XXX against the Cowboys, my team still lost

Mark, I am not a Seattle fan. I am a football fan. That was the worst called Super bowl in which the officials calls impacted the game. That didn't happen when your team lost to Dalles. It is amazing to me that people can't see things for what they are. Would have been a great game if not for those calls. Like I said in an earlier post Seattle blew it with dropped passes and missed field goals. However the lost touchdown and the holding call changed the game big time. And as you can read I didn't say out come of the game.

I agree that the momentum of the game could have been changed by two of those calls. I was not directing my statements to anyone in particular. I was just trying to state my opinion.
I took the stats from NFL.com. The average start of a drive for both teams was their own 29 yard line. The yards per attempt for rushing was 5.5 yards per carry. But the point that I was trying to make was that it was not those few plays that cost the Seahawks the Super Bowl in my opinion.
Nobody respects the game of football more then me. I feel the same way as a lot of other people do that those few calls will be what is remembered about Super Bowl XL and that is what is unfortunate. I do not feel the same joy as I would have if the Steelers just won.
No one will ever know if the calls weren't made that way who would have won. I am just stating my opinion that Seattle had 71 offensive plays that game. Only 2 went for points. I also believe that the Steelers will win another Super Bowl before Seattle does. That is my opinion for what it is worth. In the spectrum of outcomes of NFL football games, that means dick.

Mark, I'm just glad they beat the crap out of Denver!! Next year will be a Raider Nation season! And for what it's worth I respect your opionion because it's obvious you know the game. I agree with you the blown calls took away from what would have been a great game! The Steelers are a well coached team, they played thier butts off to get to the super bowl. I hope we (Raiders) steal thier offensive coach!

Mark Zalepa-Very well thought out post and while I disagree with some of it I like what you said for the most part. My whole point was that the ref's took a good game away from all fans and while we can debate who would of won with some different calls it would of been a good close game and a great superbowl. I agree with you. Even with the bad calls Seattle still had chances to win and didnt make the plays they needed to and pittsburg did so hats off to them. That being said, Seattle will be back next year. They had some unfortunate injuries in the secondary and with a decent draft they will be even better next year. They will use the franchise tag on Hutchingon so is a first ballot hall of famer and then pay Alexander the money he deserves. He has been the the best back in the league over the last 5 years. I think they need a speedy wideout to spread the field and some more depth on defense. Mark Evans-I would love to see a oakland and seattle superbowl. My buddies favorite team in the raiders and it would be fun taking some money from you two!

I'll make just one point about being a favorite.. It just doesn't matter! Spreads are for makeing $$$, and how many times have we seen HUGE favorites go down..
Colts vs Jets Liston vs Clay Tyson vs Buster Houston vs NC State UNLV vs Duke A's Vs Dogers Yanks vs Pirates Secretariat vs Upset Russia vs USA Travis vs Jerry
You still have to play the game.
P.S. Simon still sharp even with little food.

thanks Mark,
i've been trying to make a point to Austin on here....if the Hawks make their FG at the end of the half...7-6...instead they blew it....they hardly penetrated our red-zone...two missed FGs in the game....drop passes.
and i refuse...REFUSE REFUSE REFUSE to say that the off pass interference call was bad.....
common sense in football you put your hand out to push the guy ..while doing so...gain momentum in a different direction...meanwhile stopping the other mans momentum..is against the rules....good call for the refs...sloppy receiving for Jackson....not a bad calll....the only bad call in this game was blocking below the knees on Hasselback....Roth's play i felt was a judgement call....if that were Alexander leaping in the air for TD ..we wouldn't be hearing about it...oh yeah...he never got close enough....
Time of possesion means nothing..... turnover battle means nothing.....
making big plays in big games...that what we're about...
check the history.... Bradshaw to Swann....big plays not stats.... Odonnel to Larry Brown........................... Ben to Hines..............................................
