I grew up in upstate NY and am a big sabres fan. I played and then became a ref. I was so burned out on hockey I haven't watched any games for awhile. I still am a fan though.

Turning out to be an interesting season, although the trade deadline was a disappointment. We (Oilers) did alright, although Roloson has let in 13 in 3 games, which is about as well as a giant douche with goal equipment on could do.

John, I added you as a friend at myspace, didn't I. I didn't know you were from New York. I grew up in Buffalo (obviously) so I'm a big Sabres fan. It's been a fun year for me. The team is getting great goaltending, adequate defense, and timely offense. They play as a team and they're very fun to watch because they skate well. On top of that, I was smart enough to buy the NHL pkg at the beginning of the year so I've barely missed a game. In fact, we went to Raleigh right before the Olympic break to watch them play the Canes. It went to a sudden death shootout where the Sabres finally lost, but they snuck a point out on the road against the best team in the league after playing 3 games in 4 nights. Can't complain. I think the Sabres can play with anybody this year. I can't wait for the playoffs to get going.

Sabres are still rolling, while Ottawa only got a point on Boston tonight. Sabres are only a point back of first place now.
Amazing that they keep winning because if you watch them play they're struggling a bit now. Teams know the book on the sabres (be physical and aggressive) and are really challenging the Sabres but somehow they keep finding ways to win.
