So my brother and I got 4 strokes from our parents this summer, and we were happy to get them, but we don't care for the performance of them. He got a yz125f from BBR to compete in the 85's light and I got a 250f factory straight. The bikes look great, sound thumpy like they're supposed to, but both have no pick up and lack the powershot that we are used too. I haven't had a bike of my own in 3 years and was excited, but when I hit the track I laughed at what it lacked. I did some research and found a big bore kit for both bikes, but who wants to spend another grand when you can get what you need in a cheaper 125 2 stroke? I can get quicker times on my brothers little kx85 then the 250f. It may have better racing gears, but still the 250f should be able to get me up and down the hills alot quicker. I have riden the 426 yzf alot and was happy with that, but I can't see why the 250f is any different in technology. If anyone has any ideas for me that wont cost me a arm and a leg please let me know. Otherwise its going back and I'm picking up my dream bike; KTM 250sx... Thx

Try a fmf pipe and a high compression head / Or just go all out and get a happy trigger(NOS), and you mat also try gutting out the air box, k and n air filter.

When I was younger I had a 250r 4 stroke bike and a 4stroke 4 wheeler. I have ridden a rm125 and it had alot better pickup than my 250. The one thing I can suggest is spend the extra money for the kit. I have seen and heard that the 2strokes you always have to put new pistons and rings in them. I had my bike and quad for 10+ years and never had to change them. I think the 4strokes wear alot better than a 2stroke...So perhaps in the long run it will be less costly to keep the 4stroke.

At least I don't get drunk and try and race kids in the parking lot while my wife is the domino's! The car alarm was funny, but not as funny as you hopping over the curb, trying to pull a wheelie half drunk with a pair of shorts on as we are pulling out of the bars parking lot. No... No not nearly as funny. Hows the fan club? I mean the 8 yr old neighbor kids who you entertain with your pathetic attempts at a wheelie... Burn

The best part is that when you say you are going to do a wheelie its; "I'm getting good at doing POP-A-WHEELIES." Priceless
