I used to take the train down to the stadium when I was a kid and watch Willie at 2nd base, in the infield with Oscar Gamble, Don Mattingly and such. Always a big Willy Randolph fan, he was my favorite Yankee growing up.
My favorite Met....
Pete Milano, I mean Mookie Wilson.

Seems $865 M was being juuussst a little tooooo cheap...... Maybe $1 B is the key..........
The Yanks are gone. I'm still laughing at that. I'd be happier if the Twins took them out, but alas...
A "thing that makes you go hmmm...": Let's say a pitcher makes, oh, about $15 M per season. And he throws 200 innings that season. Maybe he goes 7 innings/game on average (a pretty good pitcher, right?). Let's pull him at 100 pitches per game, cuz we don't want him to get too tired. That puts us at about 28.6 games per season times 100 pitches per game, or 2,860 pitches per season. It works out to over $5200 per pitch. PER PITCH! It's gotta hurt when an owner sees a 4-pitch walk, huh!?
