I would just like to announce that I have a playstation 3 (paid my brother 200 bucks to wait in line at walmart for 2 days).
I did wait in line myself for 10 hours to get a 52" HD LCD at Circuit City for $999. Also managed to snag a Sony Dream Surround System from Best Buy on Black Friday weekend.
I am never leaving my house again!!! ;D
Anyone else get a PS3 and had the joy of playing Resistance yet?

My son is wanting to get that system. I had to remind him that he has 4 or so gaming systems.
1) Nintendo 64 (4 games) 2) Game Boy Advance (2 or so games) 3) X-Box (10+ games) 4) Game Cube (1-2 games)
I told him he would have to sell one, or two, of them to get the P3 system. If he couldn't do either, he would have to do without.

I'm waiting for the 1.2 model to come in feb. , because they didn't have much time to fix the bugs. Thats if they did have any bugs, but most systems do on the first release. I am excited to have it not only for the games, but also because it is a blue ray player. I was looking to buy a blue ray player alone and they are ringing up at about a grand, so this is the best of both worlds. Can hardly wait... 360 is boring me to death right now.

they're having a problem with when you play a blu ray disc it burns out the laser just like when you played dvds on the ps2 it burned out the laser, they're having the same problem right now Since the games themselves are on Blu Ray discs...... I haven't researched all the problems yet, but is this when just playing Blu Ray movies the burn out is effecting the laser? As soon as I booted it up it prompted me to install the upgrade, which I did. Updates are also readily available for download. So far, the problem I've had is with the way it displays PS2 games. I briefly put Final Fantasy XII in and there seemed to be some issue with the way it was running the game. The graphics were slightly incorrect I guess you could say. Hopefully, Sony will support the first generation of consoles they sold and not leave us $600 in the dust if there are some incorrectable problems.

personally i think that sony is funed for producing this model for the fact that it costs(650) and its twice that much just for a blue ray disc player to put in the ps3. where are the profits in that hmm (in the controllers?) honeslty i think a game should be something highly interactive and fun. this is why i think the Nintendo Wii will be awesome. its graphics are not as good as the ps3 by far but graphics are not everything. the wii allows the player to interact with the game and actually do something to make things happen now that f'ing awesome. plus the two biggest things is ps3 games are mostly sequls and they are expecting to produce about half as many games as they did for the ps2. the wii is going to have about 3 times as many games and more diverse titles than they are used too. and the best part it only cost 250.00$ thats it. well thats all i got to say

EB got a release.....my friend is the district manager at EB and when I went to get my PS3 he told me what was going on and all of the problems and he basically told me since I have 360 don't buy PS3 because Blu-Ray Dvd isn't even going to last, Blu-Ray is the next, "Laser Disc" HD-DVD is going to last because it's a name people who aren't into technology will know. As for the numbers, you might find them you might now, I know it was a letter they received from Sony

I think it is pretty cool, but that game for xbox 360 puts it to shame.

I just don't see the logic in standing in line for 2 days and getting something that will be just as available in 2 or 3 days anyway. Is it that important to have it first for only a day or so? Maybe it is the hope that one will get on the local TV station...looking foolish in everyone else's eyes. Always remember, someone else has already played it before you did. Also even before it was announced it existed. Sales pitch: I have a Nintendo 64. Brand old and doesn't hardly play anything and will keep you pissed off the whole time you try to play it. Not only do you not have the pleasure of playing it by yourself, you have the option to invite friends over to use the other 3 controllers that don't work. What better way to spend time with friends who now want to kill you for wasting their time for such a invaluable purpose? What a way to spend your evening, indeed?
