Many of you know that my dad had a heart attack about three weeks ago. He was working about 140 miles offshore when it happened and was flown by helicopter to a hospital in New Orleans. They immediately went into surgery and inserted a stint and a balloon. The doctors were truly amazed that he survived the heart attack and operation because he had had 100% blockage in the front main artery and he had been having severe pain for nearly 14 hours. Since that operation, he has recoverd fairly well. He still has some aches and pains, but is doing okay for the most part. He went for a check-up on Monday this week where the doctor did a sonogram on his neck. He discovered that both main arteries were also severely blocked. He then proceeded to schedule emergency surgery for this week. My dad had surgery done on the left side of his neck today to remove the blockage in one of the arteries. The doctor said there was 99% blockage and that the only blood flow to his brain was through a tiny hole. He was truly surprised that my dad had not had a stroke yet. He said the right side of his neck was 98% blocked, so they will have to go back in about 2 weeks to operate on that side. I just spoke with my mom and she said my dad is in A LOT of pain and is swollen really bad. Also, the doctor detected a spot on his lung. He did not say much about it at this point, but they will do a CT scan in the morning to find out more. Please pray that that spot is not cancerous! I don't think my dad can go through much more as his body has been put through so much in the past month. Surviving his heart attack was a miracle in itself and also that he has not had a stroke is quite miraculous. I believe in the healing power of Jesus Christ and I need those of you who also believe that by the stripes laid on Jesus' back we are healed to keep praying. My father means so much to so many people and he is a strong man of God. His name is Jody Bordelon, and I am asking those of you who will, to please keep him in your prayers. Thank you. May the Lord bless you.

God is showing his loving and gracious hand in this situation.
My sister died at 25 yrs old. she had 90% blockage. she died in about two hours
For your dad to have 100% for 14 yrs nothing short of the hand of God.

Thank you to everyone who has committed themselves to pray for my father. We are truly seeing the Lord intervene on his behalf. My dad is back home and recovering very well. We are amazed at his progress. He still has a long road of recovery, as he will go back for another operation in 2 weeks, but we are more confident of the outcome now. As for the spot on his lungs... after doing a CT scan, the doctor said there was not just one spot but multiple spots scattered on the lower portion of his lungs. He said that he does not believe it to be cancer (thank God!), but says once my dad recovers from these operations, they want to do more testing just to be sure. The doctor asked my dad if he had ever been exposed to asbestos, and my father had been about 20 years ago while working offshore. He believes the spots are due to that, which could lead to mesothelioma. My family is still having a tough time with everything that is going on, and I am so grateful for those of you who have been lifting us up in prayer. When times get hard, it is so wonderful to know that people truly do care. My father and my family thank you all. May the Lord bless you.

Just an update for those who are interested:
My dad went to the doctor today and they scheduled his surgery for tomorrow (Wed.) at 2:00 p.m. They are expecting this artery to have just as much blockage as the first one did. They are having to keep him on his blood thinner medicine so that he doesn't have another heart attack. Of course, this causes greater risk for bleeding during surgery. I know that all will be fine. I am believing and trusting God as He has proven that He is still making miracles happen today. My family also has peace about the lung situation. We go to the doctor for that on Dec. 29th and will then schedule a PET scan to find out more about what's going on there. It has blessed me to hear about those that are praying for us. Many that I don't even personally know. I cannot say thanks enough!!!
