I saw the movie yesterday, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. It was even better than I had hoped it would be, and I really enjoyed seeing the old characters so many years later.

This is 3x bigger then what the MGM execs were expecting for opening day. www.iesb.net/index.php?option=com_d4j_ezine&task=read&page=1&category=2&article=1143&Itemid=29Rocky Balboa Knocks Out The Competition Written by Robert Sanchez Thursday, 21 December 2006Rocky Balboa proved once again that he can go the distance by taking the number one spot at the box office on opening day.
MGM is reporting that Rocky Balboa has taken in 6.4 million dollars on Wednesday and is expected to break 25 million by Christmas Eve on Sunday. With a production cost of around 24 million this movie will be in the green by Christmas day.
With all the favorable reviews, Rocky Balboa should easily break the 100 million dollar mark in world wide receipts.
The Pursuit of Happyness came in second with 2.9 million, Charlottes Web with 2.1 million, Eragon with 1.8 million and The Holiday with 1.2 million.

HAHA Now thats funny!!!!!!!!
I went and saw it opening day and was blown away. I have had to explain to so many people that this is not your ytpcal Rocky film... GOne is the long training and lead ups to the fight, gone are over the top bravado and antics of old, and replacing them was a story line that kept me involved for the entire movie and acting that could possibly get Sly another academy nod.

I finally rented "ROCKY BALBOA" and watched it last night. I'm going to have to dis-agree with all of you. I thought minus the speech outside the restarant and the walking out of the ring without hearing the decision, this movie wasn't worth sitting through. I'm very happy that I didn't pay $8 to see it in the theater because I would have been angry. To me it was just more of the same stuff just 10 or 15 years later. That's my opinion.
