My goodness... that was quite powerful. God bless our soldiers. In my opinion, they don't get nearly the recognition and respect that they deserve.

Thank you Nicole for posting that, powerful stuff. I had a good friend get deployed a month ago, right after he found out he and his wife were expecting their 5th child.
It was pretty sad for his family to see him go but he believes in the job that is being done there, unlike alot of the folks back here.
Not enough credit indeed!!

This hits home to me, because my good friend and fellow puller Brandon Dye is a pilot in the air force. He could have gone to any school he wanted and could have chosen the easy road in life, but he never thought twice about serving his country. Maybe its how great of a guy he is or the fact that he would sacrifice so much just to do good for his country, but I tell you that you couldn't ask for a better friend. Prayers go out to Brandon and his friend who was taken a few weeks ago over there Ryan Hill.

I know -- and thanks!
My best friend is Special Forces and he is home only for a few months before he heads back - yet again - for his 5th Deployment. He, myself and his mom were having a late dinner last night and were discussing why he keeps going back -- he said it is simple -- "we have a job to do and it isn't done yet. What we are doing is making a difference, regardless what the media says." He just said it like this -- "if we pull out now - with the job being almost done -- then we are in essence disgracing those that we have lost in battle -- by not finishing.... " Of coarse he can't tell me alot of things -- but I believe him when he tells me that they are making progress -- and it is worth it!!
My sister was dating an Apache Pilot that was hurt in battle when his chopper was shot down in a fire fight -- VERY SERIOUS INJURIES to his back and neck -- darn it anyway if he has been working hard to get fit again for duty and is on his way back in a few months. Now if that isn't dedication and the belief that this is worth it -- what is?
I am so proud of David -- and so many others just like him....
God Bless the USA!!!!
