Leonard, I hope you are feeling better. I know that right now you are going through hell. I know that life right now is about as tough as it gets. I want you to know that you are supported and respected. I saw a post that Denise had put up that quoted you as saying you would be back on the table reffing soon. I found that incredible. With everything on your mind to still have such a space in your day to think about arm wrestling. I pray for you every day and hope for a speedy and painless recovery.

What happened to my thread, with all the support of fellow armwrestlers abroad wishing Leonard to get well! There was at least 5 pages of great get well soon, from some great people! Wish Leonard could have seen how many supporters were in his corner!!!

Denise asked for it to be deleted because it had evolved into a conversation with her and Peter Milano that was not related to the subject and she felt that it was hurtful towards the situation. I believed that Denise was the one who started the thread.

I believed that Denise was the one who started the thread. Couldn't you have just deleted the parts of the thread that may have been hurtful? also I would like to send my best wishes to Leonard and his family during these tough times....

Couldn't you have just deleted the parts of the thread that may have been hurtful? Chris, nothing hurtful was said. I asked if it could be moved to the off topic forum seeing that it was no longer an issue because he was home and doing well enough to post on another message board. I was not being insensitive or hurtful in any way. I was just trying to get the off topic POSTS over to the off topic forum. No harm No foul.

Yes, I did ask Gary to remove Pete Milano's posts, or the entire thread if need be. I was wrong. Pete's comments should have been left up so that you could all see what kind of a man Pete really is. There are many people that read Pete's "comments". Quoting Pete, "OK!! Enough already. If Leonard was well enough to post on the Canadian Board then it is time to move this to Off Topic." This comment and a couple others were uncaring, insensitive and ignorant. Leonard has a life-threatening bone cancer. He can use all the positive thoughts and encouragement that his FRIENDS wish to send his way. If you do not wish to wish him well, you should have the common sense to stay out of the thread. Making the decision, or tell the moderators that they need to move the thread is not Pete's job. Pete's behavior yesterday, classifying what was off topic or not, was also not his job. I get the impression that Pete does not have a family or friends that he cares about, or a life he is proud of, because he sure gives the rest of us a bad time. I am not going to get into a debate with Pete or anyone else. I know he was wrong and so do many others. Denise

Denise, I agree...Right now Leonard needs only positive input. I know that this is hard for you as well. Leonard is lucky to have you as a friend and right now that is all he needs from us...friendship and support. Be strong...Leonard needs to pull from any strength we can give him.
Pete...I have been trying to reach you. Give me a call when you get a chance.

You quoted me wrong Denise.
I said OK Off Topic Please IF Leonard is well enough to post messages on another board than the prayers must have helped.
Then I said to you that I was not in charge ofclassifying posts on this board (which clearly you are because if YOU find them OFFENSIVE, YOU have them taken off), but I had explained to you the purpose of the Off Topic Forum.
I love how you are trying to turn this all on me like I did something wrong. Oh abd yes I do have family and friends and kids that I care very much about and I have a family member who is dying from cancer and has had one of her lungs removed and has a huge hole in her chest that has to be tended to three to four times a day, but do I come on here and share that with this board? No, because it is a PRIVATE matter that I do not wish to share PUBLICLY.
Don't turn this on me Denise, I didn't do anything harmful or insensitive to anyone. If Leonard is having a rough time in life, I have not caused it nor have I wished it upon him. I feel sorry that he is having it so hard but I stand behind what I said when I said Off Topic.

Pete, Sorry, but I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one. When I read your post I couldn't believe what I read because I thought it was really insensitive to the situation. The thread had every right to be on the regular topic because Leonard is the HEAD REF for the WAF and that has everything to do with armwrestling. I know that women think/read differently than men and I also believe that people in the East think and talk differently than those of us in the West. These are not bad things, it's just the way it is with the culture, etc. Some people in the East are more blunt, brazen or what ever you want to call it, when speaking their mind. So, you may not have thought what you wrote was insensitive to Leonard's situation, but I did. You live in the East, I live in the West. I would have been crushed and extremely hurt if I would have read something like that about me, if I were Leonard. Damage is done, time to move on and be a little more sensitive next time. My 2 cents...

Pete, Though I am sorrry for your friend's condition, it is completely unrelated to the matter at hand. Leonard is a well known member of the armwrestling community. This is an armwrestling messageboard, thus it should be posted as news, information or something that may concern armwrestlers. I was hospitalized several years ago and was deeply deeply touched by all the well wishes, some I didn't even think knew who I was. That truly touched me as I'm sure it will help inspire Leonard and let him know he is truly appreciated. Leonard you are in our thoughts and prayers, get well and we await your return. Pete - KNOCK IT OFF! God Bless Jim Bryan

I feel I didn't do anything wrong and I stick by that.
Elaine, you say to'May"toe and I say to"Mah"toe.
Jim, you aint my daddy, I lost him to heart complications two and a half years ago, I don't need another one.
Say what you will about me, I stand behind the fact that I don't think I did anything wrong. This mess has already caused another member to delete himself from this forum and I'm sure that more members will be lost along the way. I never cried when they decided to make a web page calling me a dead beat, why are they crying if all I did was say that I thought it was an off topic thread.
You people are really taking things that go on around this board way too seriously. I have no problem with people wishing Leonard their best, why is it such a problem to go to another forum to do it?
For some reason, everyone feels like putting something on the off topic forum is hurtful or insensitive. I don't get it. It is another place for threads to be discussed. If anyone else had said it, it would not be such a big deal, but because it is me, people are jumping all over me like I'm the bad guy. Does anyone for one second think that this might be hurtful to me?No. No one seems to care what kind of effect this whole thing is having on me.
Does anyone know that people have lobbyed to have me removed from the board? No, cause no one wants to stop and take the time to find these things out. They just wanna come on here and gang up on the bad guy.
Maybe I should be offended by all the negativity that I'm getting from all of this. Just think about that for a minute.

Pete,
I doubt your feelings are being hurt, and if they are it's because of your doing, nobody else. You posted here, not somebody else, you. Poor Pete he's being ridiculed, his feelings are hurt. If anyone else did this or that is irrelevant. Pete you jumped in here, nobody else. You've continued this, "I've done nothing wrong and I stand by it!" Apparently others feel you are wrong and are taking the time to tell you. You hijacked a thread that was meant to help someone in our community. Yes U R WRONG! The thread did not need to be redirected. If the roles were reversed and someone hijacked a thread wishing you well, they would get the same treatment. I doubt anyone would do such a thing, but I've been wrong before. Now GO TO YOUR ROOM, NO TV!

Enough is enough!
It's embarassing to think the armwrestling world is reading all this.
I'm not going to waste my time and read through all the banter in the posts above. This thread, like the previous one that was deleted, was meant to give support to Leonard Harkless in his fight with cancer. That's it. Regardless if you have past 'issues' with Leonard, he deserves the right to read some positive wishes, without having to deal with all of this nonsense. And yes, it absolutely does belong on the Main Forum, not Off-Topic. How long has Leonard been in this sport? A long time.
I mean, come on people, stop acting like a bunch of teenage drama-queens and move on. This is so childish. He said this, and he did that, and why is he moderator, and its not fair, blah blah blah. Stop questioning what Gary and I do, we try our best, sometimes we make mistakes or decisions that won't make everyone happy. Welcome to the real world.
Now, maybe Trent will start a new thread for Leonard. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all.
