hey guys......i just watched the two videos that ernie posted about ron paul on the other thread....
I must humbly and honestly say that was wrong about ron paul.... he is a very conservative candidate....far more than i thought.
I dont totally agree with his preimtive strike ideas....but i do understand his argument and cant say that i totally disagree with it...
i still dont think he has much of chance with the media pushing thier favorites....or rather the puppet masters pulling their strings.
i do believe we need to get back to the basics...to keep it simple, stupid..... we need to secure this country before we secure others...sure its selffish...but how can we be a friend to other nations....if we are dead

Just couldn't resist. This isn't meant to offend anyone. I know we have to be careful these days not to step on anyone's toes.

Think about it!
OLD VERSION:
The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances And plays the summer away. Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed. The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.
MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself!
****************************************************
MODERN VERSION:
The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving.
CBS, NBC, PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the Shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. America is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?
Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper, and Everybody cries when they sing, "It's Not Easy Being Green."
Jesse Jackson stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house where the news stations film the group singing, "We shall overcome." Jesse then has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper's sake.
Nancy Pelosi & John Kerry exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.
Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity and Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer. The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the government.
A law firm represents the grasshopper in a defamation suit against the ant, and the case is tried before a panel of federal judges appointed from a list of single-parent welfare recipients. The ant loses the case.
The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the ant's food while the government house he is in, which just happens to be the ant's old house, crumbles around him because he doesn't maintain it.
The ant has disappeared in the snow. The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood.
MORAL OF THE STORY: Be careful how you vote.

McCain is running on the "I'm a Veteran and past POW" ticket but has flip-flopped as much as any liberal out there. His stance on immigration alone disqualifies him. Guiliani is a closet liberal claiming "homeland security" status because he was in the right place (mayor) at the wrong time (Sept. 11th). Can anybody show me Thompson's qualifications other than he has a "strong voice and presence" and has *play-acted* at being a leader in movies and TV shows? Romney's voting record isn't any better than McCain's and others. Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate that has NEVER waivered in his voting record. He has NEVER voted for anything that is not authorized by the Constitution. He turns part of his office's operating budget back to the treasury EVERY year! NO other member of either house has done that consistently. They usually ask for more money! Ron Paul has won every debate according to the polls conducted by the very same news organizations that sponsored the debates! WHY won't they publicly present the results on their news shows instead of just leaving them on their websites for people to search for? WHY do they try to disparage Congressman Paul? Because his stand on the budget, Federal Reserve System, Income Tax, and numerous other things, is to bring them back within the constraints of the Constitution and it threatens the status quo of free money for those that suck off the peoples' assets. Has the media told you that Ron Paul has more cash on hand than several of the so-called "top tier" candidates? Have they told you that his coffers continue to grow through internet donations? NO. If you looked at which candidates have the most financial support based on the money on hand and currently coming in Ron Paul would be in the top 5!!!!Look for more than just what the major media outlets feed you!!! They have chosen those they want! Iowa has chosen whom they want and the Republican caucus there along with the Iowa debates sponsoring organization has decided they won't let Ron Paul appear. WHY?

I lke fred thompson partly because of his powerful voice and presence.......i think that iss something this country needs I would also agree that Ron Pauls ideas of the role of this nation are defenitly some ideas we need to get back to "Powerful voice and presence" are *not* a top qualification requirement to be president. A thorough understanding of the Constitution IS! Military service is another strongly recommended attribute. How can you command the military if you don't understand it? Clinton is a perfect example. He publicly stated that he loathed the military. Ron Paul is the ONLY one that has shown by his voting record that he has that understanding. He also is a veteran and a doctor so he will not only understand military procedure but knows what is going on in the healthcare realm. (spelling corrected)
