Well, the investigation into the crash that killed 5 recent highschool grads in Rochester seems to have discovered that the driver's cell phone had sent and received text messages only seconds before the fatal accident's 911 call. I've personally witnessed younger drivers texting while driving, ESPECIALLY on highways where driving can be monotonous. But I hope any of you younger guys and gals reading this give some thought to what happened in New York and avoid texting while driving. The rest of us on the road would appreciate it. Thanks.

My sister-in-law brags how she can text without looking. Even if you're not looking, you're using a great deal of your body's mental resources to concentrate on the task of texting. Driving is a dangerous enough task to deserve priority over texting.

I did a research paper on this topic a few months ago. It was quite interesting to read the different laws that are trying to be passed that would "ban" this kind of thing. There has already been so many fatalities from texting while driving. It may seem harmless, but it is so incredibly dangerous. I am guilty of doing this myself, but I do try to wait until I am stopped to type a message. I tried to find a copy of my research paper because it had some really interesting facts, but I don't know where it is saved on my computer. Anyways, I got an "A" on it so that's always good.

I think that texting is rediculous. I do text, but only in emergencies. I am very guilty of driving while on my cell, but texting just doesn't happen unless I pull off the road.
PS Great job Brittany on the A. Any research paper that gets an A is a good one in my book

Hmm.. Good interview question. Can you text message while driving?
Just makes hiring decisions easier, from my point of view.

Depending on the type of phone, it is very easy to text or IM on a phone while driving. I do it all the time. I even read and respond on this board while I'm driving late at night. ;D

You have to communicate while driving? Can't you wait to get to where you're going? How did people ever manage to survive before cell phones were invented???!!!

Guilty as charged. I do it but very rarely because it is dangerous to say the least.

You have to practice, Dustin. Then it won't be so dangerous.
