Okay, this is a 12-team league. All twelve of us are devoted fantasy footballers who have been in the same league for more than 5 years now, so none of us mess around. I had the 10th overall pick in a snaking draft. The roster is 14 spots, with 8 starters (QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, K, DEF). Here's my team, with the round I used to draft them in parentheses...
QB - M. Bulger-St. Louis (3rd) RB - W. McGahee-Baltimore (1st) RB - R. Brown-Miami (2nd) WR - R. Moss-New England (4th) WR - C. Johnson-Detroit (5th) TE - Vernon Davis-San Francisco (6th) K - Jeff Wilkins-St. Louis (10th) DEF - Denver (11th)
Bench - Brett Favre-Green Bay (9th) Bench - Fred Taylor-Jacksonville (7th) Bench - Chris Chambers-Miami (8th) Bench - Randy McMichael-St. Louis (12th) Bench - Vikings (13th) Bench - Jason Hanson - Detroit (14th)
I made sure I had no bye week conflicts. I have a decent backup at every position, but I only go one-deep across the board. I tend to keep thin in terms of depth, while putting more value into my starting lineup. I felt I reached a bit on my WRs and TE, but there were no other game-changing WRs left when I finally picked Moss in the 4th, and I'm high on Vernon Davis this year. Calvin Johnson was worth a shot in the 5th too, when it was between him or Lave Coles and Coles would've had the same bye week as Moss, so I took a chance on the rookie.
Thoughts? Opinions?

I think your 1st running back pick stinks but i do think Johnson is going to have a big year

I know exactly what I have in Willis, the good and the bad, and I expect solid production from him. He's not elite, but he'll carry the load in baltimore, much like Jamal Lewis did. He's a grinder who gets goal line carries. With the 10th pick, I felt he was the best available RB.

I think you would have been better off picking coles over Johnson personally. McGahee was a solid pick considering in most drafts rb's are going right off. Your QB's could go either way. I will post my list soon.

The little i've seen of Johnson i can tell he's going to be a star but whether or not it starts this year is another story. When the lions first drafted him i wondered until after i saw him play.As bad as the lions have been there passing offence should be alot better than its been

It wouldnt surprise me if Johnson made 1000 yards this year and make rookie of the year

Yeah, it was a gamble, but the other receivers weren't very spectacular. I took a risk on the college stud. I'm not that big on Coles, and he has the same bye as Moss, so I avoided him for that reason too.

When you picked McGahee was the overall 1st pick or your 1st pick?We have our draft this saturday and i have the feeling that S Alexander will be back to his old self this year

He was my first pick, 10th overall. Alexander went third in my draft behind L.T. and Jackson.

Larry Johnson has a nobody at QB, a questionable defense, and wasn't even signed at the time of my draft. There were reasons his stock fell. And even then, he only fell to 4th.

I can understand that. Although I do believe he is a better pick than jackson. everyone knew he wasn't going to sit out the season.

It's a tough call. It's a tougher call than most years. Usually you have about three guaranteed studs (L.T., Alexander, Faulk, etc). This year there's question marks as early as the 2nd pick. I actually didn't mind having the 10th pick.
