I did a 4 too .... I heard about that from Florian K. cause he is a Grip-board member as you are. I am sure..if you close the 4 you have to be a elite grip-Monster without any doubt . congrats on that Rob...fantastic. Pinching helps AW a lot in my opinion I agree here & want to say that when it comes to pinching its a different story in my Aw-club...Cause no one of my prior students except 1(& that's the one who won the last Over the Top open class here in Germany & only lost to Germanus in the Champ of the Champ class of that day)could ever pinch more then me so far..my pinch is way better then my coc-abilities and i think it helps me a lot in Armwrestling when i was competing good. Andre Riske (A German Armwrestling hall of famer) once showed me that he just uses his 3 Fingers (thumb, index, middle pressure together) with a good wrist stability for most part of his winning-game in armwrestling even with opened.. pinkie, ring & sometimes middle finger, he could pin a lot of guys. ;D It was obvious to me that the stable position of his hand & the look of it. was exactly the position when 1 pinches.from that day i knew for sure that if i pinch good i will carry some of it into armwrestling. After a while i saw due to winning aw-matches easier caused by that thumb-stability ect. that it was right to Analise that way & pays off if done for a while. your inputs are interessting guys...

Florian K. can close 3 for reps...i will ask him tomorrow about the 3,5.. not sure!. I was only up to 2.5 for reps but never got to train specific constantly enough for coc grip-strenght to close even the 3 not thinking about the 3.5.Cause we just use them as a warm up for some Aw-training days & i am not a coc-grip-specialist like a lot of Friends here. to me the step between 2.5 to 3 is not easy & needs good work & good technique as Florian K. showed me once.I think it would be the same between 3 & 3.5..idk. but the step between 2 & 2.5 was pretty easy for me at least. I just worked with 1.5 & 2 and as i bought the 2.5...Click already closed it ;D...it was fun cause i thought i had to work for it longer too. But the 3 was so far away. cause i could just parallel it & not more. ;D. Interesting was that it felt like i can not even bring the power on it...strange...like my range was over but i had power in the tank...but i guess it was only some kind of weakness (no matter power or technique-wise) from the higher-closing ability perspective...Cause i would feel the same when a guy tell me this about the NR.2.But one thing i would do for sure...i would look if his hands are way smaller then mine or not to understand just aliitle more what kind of difficulty it could be. How easy were the steps for you guys ?? its interesting to hear. Click...Click... shawn L.: I think the size of the Hand is very very important for the Coc-3.5-closings & or other similar brands . Also the relation between palm-lenght and finger lenght...So i think for a guy with your size you will succeed soon if you keep doing it.pretty sure it will happen at least with the 3...good work and i wish you success with that. ..let us know in some time about it.. Anyway...to touch that area of 3 (with a smaller hand) & 3.5 (with a bigger hand) means a lot of real grip power for sure!. Nr.4 is for Titans-of-Crushing-grip. . I never meet someone to talk to, who can close a Nr.4 good thread even so the benefits of Coc for Aw are very limited as most of you guys know but Its a good feeling to close that Monsters! for sure and they are not absolute senseless also. happy crushing.. ;D lets hear it... A.K

Nick Zinna doesn't post in the board but is an AW'er so I thought I'd post this. After taking part in a grip competition, and doing closes and reps for fun... he casually, while SEATED, closed a #3.5 using the "official" rules required for the certification (that is, inserting a credit card width between the handles after you set the gripper (with two hands) and then proceed to close it with one hand). So he's World Class in grippers for sure. Impressive...very good closing...top grip power & thats while seating there... ;D ;D...nice.

Hello Aw-Friends , There is a good/interesting thread going on right now---> www.northeastboard.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=23882and there are a lot of good thoughts to read there.Because the thread is very specific between 2 variation of tournament-layouts and the points i like to share and chat here are in general & many-sided and not only about those points. i decided to make this thread here about the key-points at all that we need to success for our sport.another thing that brought me to making this was the points of our market discussions & the lately Olympic discussion that leaded into some suffering of some of us that will be connected to all of us sooner or later..you can read it here---> www.northeastboard.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=23719...even so we realize it or not...care or not..it happens and is important. But one after the others...step by step....thanks for understanding and patient. If you don´t want to join in to this i understand..if you do, then please do it positive...thanksSo this is for the promoters & the Athletes & organizers & all the fans in general! to share good thoughts about the key points to success in general & for our beloved sport of Armwrestling
------------------------------------ To start with i like to mention the biggest Key-Word in this context for me and that is: ----------------> FUN <----------------- some of you could say now....its logical and you had see it a lot in my posts too and sometimes probably i over do it without realizing that not everyone shares the same fun with me...Idk but I know...but let me start somewhere for now. ..ty Okay...With regard to the other current interesting thread i want to add first in that context for example that it is always possible to draw big attention even with a single round robin that just makes a lot of fun you can do that, with the right person if there is a right concept & understanding behind it. I have a current example for this: see....because Devon larratt will be here as our Guest this weekend... and people asked to do something good last year...i am honored to organize now a so called "King of the "German" table" for his German fans & Aw-friends here... Round Robin Style....very simple...but big fun for all guaranteed. Sometimes you just have to do the things other needs/want you to do...We all should understand that fun is more important then anything else in this context, that means if we really are heading to give a sample size of our sport to the sport market and so on & really want it to grow.then Fun is one of the essential ingredient why fun first & not money??Cause we all started with fun...the rivalry & the achievement and other part of the game & the money invested into it (i don´t mean earning) all came later....remember that. Back to my example: So what happens now in the last days over here is that Aws from other parts of Germany start to take a trip (miles) to Berlin just to be part of this.Things that normally would happen for a bigger German Championship and similar in a tournament format now happens here for the round robin format with the Champ also...point clear. Sometimes it is not needed to make things to complicated... easy & fun is needed in the same package/repertoire of a wanted growing sport as big cash & big circle of expertize is needed too. Each of them used with a good timing can make things coming in to the right direction (growing the sport positive)........But 2 things are always involved beside of others or should be involved better said: 1-that is the funfactor & 2-the correct analystic of the right key market but with regard of different situations I know my example with D.L was a very special example and we are talking here about the Nr.1 ranked and its easy to do once understood how....but sometimes you have to just do the fun thing........the rest will always follow as a result not viceversa......this is something logical that a lot of us (Athletes & organizers) forget too easy and too often because of things like...success pressure or rivalries or habits or money or whatever............ Okay...the Weekend is coming and we all here are looking excited & honored to the so called. a simple & old school round robin with 1 Big Champion.I will give you info about the outcome of that one. One last thing in that context before i go my Aw-friends: We already often talked about having a difficult market for armwrestling & it is correct to a certain degree when it comes to products around it but remember Nike as multi-billion industry was not only successful because of the products itself & the connected sports... it was also the image delivered in simple text/slogan that every single person with or without sport background can/could feel & understand immediately. what was/is it again?? "Just do it"...why?? because just do it includes and expresses deep within the needs of "having fun" Armwrestling starts with fun for at least the majority of athletes before they became athletes of it for a while...right?? Have a nice weekend everybody & stay healthy....will be back soon. A.K

Hello back, Thanks AK.......I don't know many pullers so thanks for the info AK. Glad i could give you some useful info Travis, for example... i did not know about alot of former/current U.S pullers during my current project on the Board and a lot of Aw-friends help me out with info too. Thats how it works...its a circle. AK do you have some video of that short guy in the yellow shorts,Kyle says his name is Dennis...not sure when that video was but does he still pull,if so i would like to see some more! thanks! As i could see other Aw-friends had already answered to you correctly!. (thanks guys). there are a lot of Videos from him to see on you-tube channel for example. Here you have 1 of the Final 2008 Zloty matches against John B. ------------------------------------------------ @jacob: as Herman already mentioned, i was referring to the age of the "current" Nr.1 in that context. Pushkar in 20s...Devon in 30s...there are a lot of tasks to break thru for him beside of this but i meant in that context because of that he probably will not dominate "20" years. If he can dominate 10 years it would be "Hardcore" enough nowadays as Dave O. already mentioned very good points... Hope its clear how i meant that in the first post...but your prediction is very interesting & you have good points behind it..its not bold to me...we will see his progress & developments into a probably tremendously bigger "Force" for sure....i agree with this. I watched him on armtv and other sites pull Zloty in 2004 where he pulled Brzenk, Travis, Vovoeda, and others very competitively. Just a info correction...i was competing in Zloty 2004 & Pushkar was not competing there with Brzenk,Travis,Voevoda ect.. Idk...maybe he was there as a spectator but i have not seen him there. As far as it comes to your "general" statement about him being competitive in young age on the "supers" and getting better year after year... i have/had already agree. This gonna be a interesting prediction to follow anyway.... ------------------ @james: ;D ;D...still trying to puzzle this... Travis......your killin me bro....lol I know, that you know, that they dont know, who they are, so who really knows, thats what i know. Are you saying that you think that Travis knowing about all of this names and things & is kidding with us..or are you saying you know someone that knows better then what you know....or are you saying you know that we all don´t know at all.... ;D....idk. ;D ---------------------------------- I'd like to say that in my own mind I would like to make sure that it doesn't happen because of me. ^^this 1 is good... lol about this sudden interesting new info Trapper...why not.. ;D.. if you are training/learning/pulling steady for this maybe you can fulfill 1day what is in your mind...i like your passion anyway. thank you all guys for the good converstaions & stay healthy A.K

who is Andrey Pushkar?..sorry never heard of him,is their video of him some where?..not a joke sorry i jus never heard of him!..but im sure hes never heard of me either! Here a fight of Pushkar vs. Cyplenkov for T-Rob...for your Armwrestling who is who hours in the sport if you like to learn more about the oversea known Armwrestlers too.Been there..done that..& still do. Its not a bad idea to not just know the U.S Armwrestler in the medium term if you really like this sport. (no offense...just a honest opinion). we all have to start somewhere...glad you asked open. there are a lot of other good videos showing him also. @the prediction: interesting prediction!. He is young enough to go for this & there is a possibility to achieve that as a "super-heavy"...i agree...but there are still to much ifs & whens on his way. I watched him live in Manchester 2006..when J.B took his hand up & said after that "he can hit like a truck/train and will be a force soon."...Now he is a force but to become what you predict needs far more then the tendons & heart of a man in his 20s. and he will probably struggle at least 10 of your predicted 20 years with the current Nr.1 ...cause he is in his earlier 30s & is in my opinion just coming in to his prime-time. so i disagree with the 20 years of a one-way domination but i am looking very positive of his development also. But as long as Devon is in Top-Shape & Nr.1 he is the man that will dominate others with "No limit".Pushkar is Great but Devon is one of the complete athletes that one can see in armwrestling in many ways. we will see....nice prediction anyway!. I actually live my life by this quote. Its pretty much everything that I am, and is why I succeed. This is something to read again and again and really take in. "Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race." -Calvin Coolidge The brad Really good!.thanks for sharing this brad...it sounds like pure wisdom in words...i enjoyed reading it 2 times in a row..

Hello Aw-Friends, I think first...we should give the WAF some time (not to long) to react to show again on which route they are on this subject in the meanwhile... Whether the responsible & active leaders are still for the idea of Olympics with all the aspects & politics behind it to get this things done or not?? If not....I mean if not in a real "effective way" then probably people/athletes who really "wishes" to see armwrestling in the Olympics someday, have to seat/talk honestly together about all + & - around it and look for an another proper way to achieve the goals for the Armwrestling-future within opportunities. But if at all...we can only solve this together and the WAF & Members of it are Big & well-rehearsed and could play a tremendous positive roll in this case...you are right there is a possibility to working all to getter and maximizing activities to success for sure. trapper: What kind of answer did you got from the Representatives about this so far?...What kind of "new" research-outcome do you have so far? stay young in heart my Aw-friend. A.K
