Sponsorship and fundraising allowed the directors to help additional High School and College teams this year and fund new programs. North High received $3,000 in cash for their Bootman Sheets Winter Tournament and their team scholarship. Cash awards to the following local teams were as follows; California State University Bakersfield Wrestling and the new FRONTIER HIGH SCHOOL TITANS wrestling team received $1,000 each. Bakersfield Christian and Bakersfield Jr. College Wrestling each received $500.00 each for their assistance and improvement during the past year. Centennial, Liberty, South, East High, and Foothill received $250.00 each for their assistance and ticket sales participation. The entire tournament was filmed by ARM TV and will be broadcast over the web. 11 Current and former WORLD CHAMPIONS PARTICIPATED including 52 Year old ALLEN FISHER who wrestled and won two weight groups while collecting $600 in cash. His wife Carolyn Fisher also won $600 and two weight groups defeating local favorite Amber Varner in a battle that brought the crowd to their feet.
