I need help from anyone willing to give it about how to find information and/or video on some of the competition we will be facing in Canada. I have jumped off of Turkey's amazing "Links" page but I am having trouble navigating the sites due to the language barrier. Personally I am looking for video and any other information about: Abramov Radzion of Belarus, Bezkorovainyi Dmytro of Ukraine, Mahmoud Gharib of Egypt, Mahmet Cetinkaya of Turkey, Fabrizio Gambirasio of Italy, Fabio Manfrinato of Brazil, Mirzohid Sharapov of Uzbekistan and Akhpolov Azamat of Russia. All of which competed last year at worlds and a few of which have been placing high for at least the last seven or so years (Dmytro, Manfrinato and Sharapov) Engin I saw a thread where you rated Dmytro a 7 left handed and a 6 right handed, second to Abramov, who you rated a 7 right handed. Can you elaborate on why? What are their respective strengths? Weaknesses? TIPS??? ;D Any information is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks Alot!!!

Also Engin..... I recall you have or had a rankings page that you put together based off your study's and tournament results. I thought it was part of amrpower.net but I can't find it. Do you still opperate it? If so where. Thanks again.

www.armsport.com and www.armwrestling.com both have WAF World results going back quite a ways (at least 8 years). Also the Canada Armwrestling Federation has good results for the Canadian Nationals going back to the late 70's. Their nationals are the end of August. I would expect a strong showing at Worlds from them for obvious reasons.

fizik72.brinkster.net/bilekci/link.htmGreat International Links Page off of the Turkey Armwrestling site - www.bilekci.com. Everything is broken down by country and very easy to navigate. Once you get onto individual country and team sites it gets a little tricky trying to figures out due to the language barrier.

The hardest part about watching the Worlds is that I never know who I am watching; with exception to the finals because I look up the top two pullers. Oh-well. It's a start. Thanks Engin!!!

My hopes in starting this thread were to use it as a home base for collecting and sharing info on foreign armwrestlers, as a way to better prepare our selves for worlds. Maybe I'm being nieve because this will be my first World Championships, but I thought it was a good idea. I am very excited and find myself staying up way to late looking for pictures and video of my possible competition.

it is a very good idea that you analyse your opponents,i do the same thing.when you do your home work as much as you can then the things are usually easier when the exam time comes.

your competition (all Russians) does inside hook- you do not have to look much further Get stronger in hook and toproll (which will stop the hook if you have a weak hook) You need tons of back pressure to stop these monsters....Last time I have seen a russian at your weight stopped by a toproll was Engin when he was around your weight...which is like 13 years ago or more actually.... Engin, correct me if i am wrong.... I may be too harsh with my comments but just thought will give you an inside look....Also I do not think Russia and other east European countries wiil be in Canada with Full Force so you may wanna look for opponents from Canada and Japan and posssibly England.....I am sure they will have 2 people in each class....

This thread is a great idea for those going to worlds for the first time. The videos on worldofarmwrestling.com are great. Most people have windows media player, and the Nemiroff competitions almost always feature some of the best pullers in the world.

yes Alper, last time i pulled in 55kg was in 1996 (was dieting down from 62-63kg) which is about 12 years ago.actually i pulled only two times at 55kg class (1994&96 WAFs) and pulled against Russians 8 times in those two competetions (7-1 one loss to Tamaev Totraz in 94 WAF but beat him two times in same event to take first place).
i agree that Russians or other eastern Europeans will not be in Canada with full force but i am sure that every weight category will have at least one Russian (may not be the best one).for my class the best guys in the World will be there (Zoloev and Lubomir) but i am not sure about the other classes.
i also agree that light weight Japanese armwrestlers are the ones to be taken very seriously.
