There used to be a ton of light/ welter weight greats in Minnesota. Harold Ryden and Mark Zirtman are two that ring out. Mart O'neil could make 65's at times and he had some HUGE wins over top notch national level pullers. Jason Remer early on was able to cut to 76's and was a beast. His brother Jerry was also a very good puller.
Harold still pulls back there at times, he may be able to add to this for you.

Harold is visiting for Christmas and a bunch of us are practicing. A lot of guys retired from armwrestling. Marty retired but I've met him twice and he weighs about 200 now, but is still very good. Met Jason, too. Huge set of arms. Most of the guys on my lists are just amateurs cause that's the only people I see at the local tourneys here.

Yeah for sure and as soon as the next tournament comes up in Minnesota I'll be ranked 3rd with both arms, Yosef if you could make 165 and be as strong as now you'd be 2nd right handed.

Who do you think, the guy at the top of the list, Jeff Ahmann, remember him from the East Bethel tournament? The guy who got 2nd at nationals a few years ago, I think 2004.
Besides, you've yet to beat Brandon... and you're 180!

Damn I'm always telling Brandon to come to tournaments with us. He's pretty good at 154 especially with the left arm (Iowa state champ). Jeff has been retired for I think like 3 years. I don't even have contact info for him, he was just at a local tournament I went to last September and he told me he got 2nd at Nationals once. He flashed Yosef and Dave Bauer, and everybody else in his weight class. Mike do you know Jeff? I'll see if Dave has has number and I'll call him. Yosef said he wants to go to the toproll tournament and we're also both going to Pull for the Hungry.

Finally another tournament in Minnesota on Thursday so finally can get updated rankings. I've been dying to move myself up but couldn't until I beat some guys! Jeff Ahmann and Jason Meyerhopper last competed in September 2008, David Bauer November 2008. I will take them off if they go a full year without competing. After carefully reviewing the video I took of the tournament 2 days ago, and watching who beat who, this is how the list looks, to the best of my ability:
Right Arm: 1. Brandon Hareldson 2. Jason Meyerhopper 3. Josh Handeland 4. Kyle Cook 5. Nick Jilt 6. Jerricho Bushman 7. David Bauer 8. Doug McCain 9. Andrew Schwarzendroger 10. Ben Portillo
Left Arm: 1. Josh Handeland 2. Brandon Hareldson 3. Nick Jilt 4. Jason Meyerhopper 5. Aaron Gillespie 6. David Bauer 7. Jason Bauer 8. Andrew Schwarzendroger 9. Jamie Vale 10. Jerricho Bushman
In my rankings, you've got to beat someone ranked above you to move up. I'd put money on Aaron over Pete lefty but until he beats him, or Pete doesn't compete for 7 more weeks and gets taken off the rankings, I won't move Aaron up. Andrew would probably beat Jason, maybe Dave, but until it happens, I go by fact not my opinion. There is another tournament on August 1st so it'll probably get updated again then.

Josh,
Thanks for your e-mail...I knew you would be interested.
Actually, I was going to try to contact in a day or so; but, when I saw your e-mails, I couldn't resist putting something out.
I'm conducting the tournament.
If you want to know more before I get it out the details, feel free to call me. I sent you an e-mail with my phone number. Looking forward to Minnesota....great state and great people.
Dale
