Some of you are changing your avatars on your own. This would not be a problem, but 9 times out of 10 you are linking up a photo that is far too large for the 100 x 100 avatar space, thus slowing down any thread you posted in. Also, the aspect ratio usually gets distorted when you change it because of the different pic sizes. I would prefer you email me your photo so that I can crop it and resize it so that it loads as quickly as possible. Thanks...

Kurt,
Being computer illiterate, not knowing what an avatar was, and not wanting to ask, I went to dictionary.com and looked it up. Here's the first definition:
The incarnation of a Hindu deity, especially Vishnu, in human or animal form. An embodiment, as of a quality or concept; an archetype: the very avatar of cunning. A temporary manifestation or aspect of a continuing entity: occultism in its present avatar.
You have avatar's on this board? Ryan Thames in gonna HAVE YOUR ASS!

haha
Avatar is the picture of the person posting. For example my avatar is a cut-out of me armwrestling and pasted against a gray background. Its pretty bad, not as good as most people's on this board.

Hey guys... I'm just glad that someone else asked/explained what an avatar was! I thought maybe I was missing something! Just a bit on the computer illiterate side of things!

I assumed i knew what an avatar was because everyone keeps using that word. I prefer to say picture makes much more sense. I try to be a man of my word Bill as you disagree with that. I promised James Retarides when i registered for this baord several months ago that i would keep my religous stuff on the off topic forum. I think ive done a pretty good job at that. i think i pulled too hard tonight at practice and hurt my ribs on the edge of the table so im gonna go to bed now.

I like Bill's definition. It seems that it would provoke a typical Ryan Thames response of accusing us of being heathens or something....
